so im driving around today (its kinda hot) and i step on the pedal really hard and i dont hear my turbo spool up but i hear the compressor surge when i shift. so i pull over and rev all the way up to redline and it sounds fine. i have a injen cai so usually when i drive i can here the high pitch whistle but right now it sounded muffled. but when im in neutral it sounds just right. i think and hope that because its a hot day the cai is sucking in hot air and that is affecting it. but idk...... what do u think it is??

on a side note i just got under my car and looked at the turbo and it is covered with grease. i know its the rings or something but where do i get them so it stops leaking and where can i get that fixed

Sounds like a bad WGA, and its not grease its oil... When I had a bad one my car felt like it had no power but made all the normal turbo noises just no power. Blow into your wga line and see if you can blow freely or is its extremly hard?

you're supposed to blow freely on a good wga? Already try and it was very hard to blow, and I think my wga is okay? I am making good power (180 hp at 10 psi, untuned at 9.1 afr on a mustang dyno) and not over boosting.

no very hard to blow means its good

actually i have the same problem but i connect it with a hot day. it is/gets very muggy and hot in the summer and i clearly get less power during mid-day.wait for night time to come then try it again. if the problem keeps happening you most definitely have a clog. if it runs fines during the night then blame it on the sun. BUT my wga is clear. gl.

well i just tried it at night and its not as bad but i still am losing power. i took a friend for a ride and he thinks i have a boost leak. could that be it also?

Seems like it could also be just heatsoak. I take it with the plastic pipes you still have the stock SMIC?
