Looking for the Ingen Intake check this out

so..............

any word on the #s with the newly revamped Injen CAI? I have seen nothing posted as of yet.

They advertise a product on the wrong car? Did I miss something? The description says "Injen Racing Intake Sys: Mazdaspeed Protege 03-ON (Polish)" and the picture clearly states "Note: Image shown may not be your specific vehicle."

You people are waaaaay too critical, even if it was meant to be funny. SOSPEED looks as if he's a new guy around here, so there's no need to be a smartass about his post. I, for one, did not know that options offered the intake.

Thank you for posting that, SOSPEED.

if you canucks who didn't get in on the injen buy the first time for the mazdaspeed, i would highly recommend getting in touch with ptuning.com. when i got my injen with mp3wannabe, he did it through ptuning and got the price down to 195 shipped to your door. for the canucks, it was an extra 8 dollars or something. so yeah... look into it.

who knows... i don't even think they know what it is. just kidding. supposedly, it's a french canadian, but more generally a canadian. i don't think anyone really knows where the word comes from though. cause if it's a combination of french and canadian, it should be "frenadian" or "canench". i know! canadian + france sucks = canucks!

Someone point out to me if this is incorrect but why would you pay $300+ for a CAI when you have a intercooled turbo car?? Unless everything I learned has been incorrect cooling the air going into the turbo does very little as it will heat up allot in the compressor before it is cooled by the intercooler and fed into the engine.
Most turbo drag cars and road race cars run with an open turbo with a mesh grate over it and no filter at all and no ram air whatsoever.

Unless I see dyno results to refute this im not buying the hype to waste $300+ on something that will give no gain.

Anyone have another opinion on this?

Shane

So $245, any idea if this intake would work with a Front mount or would u have to go custom?

Wow thats pretty impressive spicy!! Well at least that gives me hope of getting 200whp with just a couple mods.

Shane...to address your comments earlier...in theory a CAI will cool intake air into the compressor. For a small compressor like ours, this increases it's efficiency...lets you eek boost out more easily. However...in practice that difference is very small compared to the increased airflow. But...placing the filter in a cool spot will allow increased total efficiency and remove some of the heat soak problems. I'm almost sure you could make 200whp pretty easily with just a couple mods...albeit warranty voiding ones :D ...Say...intake, proper fuel program (hopefully MUSA will have that soon), and boost at 10 psi. If that doesn't do it, then make an i/c cooler...that's my current project. ;) I forgot...after all this extra air is in the system, you're gonna need to expel it...downpipe, cat removal..etc...in otherwords...a turbo back.

Greg.. yes they are old.. but even with the new intake, no hp was lost or gained. So its the same.

z00mer...that's a nice IC spray there...that would actually fit our ICs nicely...Damn...now I have to decide weather I want to go IC spary or full time active cooling of some sort.

I know exactly what you mean. I was trying to decide between an FMIC or this system. Its a tough choice. I guess whichever one works the best, and does`nt cost as much. :p
