LinuxRacr's Haltech E6X Log..

I'm living the latest software update. I did notice changes in the way the temperature sensors read. They are more responsive, but also reading lower than they were before causing me to have to re-map.

I'm running the same OS version with no problems, I havent seen a decrease in coolant temperatures so there may be other factors. Patricks Haltech had on level newer of a firmware update from the factory.

Speaking of firmware, is there an easy way to update it or a reference of what the differences are with the haltech?

there aren't any downloads for it, so I don't think it's intended to be for the home user.

Update:

I should have a Haltech Unit in Wednesday. They came in today, but it was too late to ship out. Monday is a holiday, so he won't ship til Tuesday. I should have it Wednesday.

Did some reading on that thread on the Haltech board about some different quirks. I'm gonna try some different things, to get my car to work, and I'll report back. I'll be so pissed if this was just a fluke like when Ahmad's coil got fried from us locking the timing at 10 degrees to find the trigger angle. Put in a new coil, and it didn't happen again. Hmmm.. Fluke?

Tried out my Haltech again, and got the car to start. Hooked up a timing light to both of the ignition wires, and the coil on the driver's side is not firing at all, and the coil overheats. I tried reloading maps and reseting the E6X multiple times, but the same result. I guess Wednesday will be the magic day...

we'll see what happens with the new one. Did you have to pay for it up front, or what?

I believe this will be a warranty issues, so I don't believe I will have to pay for a new one. I would be pissed at Haltech if I did have to pay..

Like all companies, Haltech told me to send the unit for warranty. They will fix it or get a new one at no cost if they find out it was something wrong with the unit. I miself will lend a new unit to Linux at his own risk to help him get the car running while his unit goes and comes back from Haltech Australia. When it comes back, I will get the unit back from him. This is done only as customer support.

Juan

That's HiBoost for you. He's been very helpful in getting me started with my haltech as well.

Yes, Juan has always been very helpful to me with the Haltech, and other members as well. I hope to be running again Wednesday.

It's here! more updates in a couple of hours. Number 1592. One thing I notice off the bat is that the insides jiggle a lot less.
