Limerock This Year?

First of all, great idea!!!! If you can get Mazda Motor Corp. to back you up on this and make it "official" you have a greater chance of getting this approved by the management of LRP.

I have two concerns one being, time the other being, cost. LRP usually books the car corrals and such months in advance. I don't know when the next available space is but I will check it out for you. Also, LRP will charge you a fee to set up this corral in the infield. I'll check on that also.

On the brightside, those involved in the car corral may be eligible for "Parade Laps" around LRP. This is where the corral guys show off their cars by taking a few parade (pace) laps around the track during lunch time.

im not sure how I would feel about going to mazda for support for something like this since our turnout can be so sporadic...if i knew we would have great turnout (most notably if any of the other new england mazda owners clubs would not avoid/ignore past proposals to all work together for bigger meets/events) then I would totally pursue this. I would hate to pursue it, have mazda shell out some money, probably send someone out with a camera (like at RIU) and only have 5 cars show up...

mel, when is the open track date for sept this year?

We have track days available through various auto clubs. Basically you pay the money, arrive with car and helmet... met your instructor and get out on the course for some fun. Like what I did last year through EMRA but you guys chickened out (lol2) . Just kidding..

September is booked for the BMW and Porsche guys but here are some available dates for folks like us:
Performance Drivers Association: www.pdadrivingschool.com
On April 8th

Sports Car Driving Association: www.SCDA1.com
On May 12th and June 23rd thru the 24th

Let me know if any of you guys are signing up for this... Chances are I'll be racing too!

A formal "Car Corral" may not be worth it then. You guys can always arrive early, find a good parking spot in the infield and have your own little car show... that's what a few people did last year.
