My light in the trunk broke and i wanted to get some ideas for how to make my own, i was thinking a mild white or something so i can see and make it look cool at the same time

anyone got any pics / ideas? where would i get the supplys for such a project?

I would say Cold Cathodes, the type used in PC mods.
You can get them in white, I plan on installing a few short ones in my trunk.

where can i get these (in a store, not online?) i tryed calling a few places and they were like, wtf

I used a relay and tapped my amp power distro to power 6 neon tubes.

I have one 36" neon in my trunk velcro'd to the hatch cover, powered by a cheap ebay neon controller. Works great, and with the neon controller will flash to the beat of my sub if I set it to! hardwired neons rule!

what kinda "neon controller" do you have? i searched for it but couldn't find anything? got a link or something?

hahaha "DANCE!" so do you have it pluged into the lighter or did u cut it off and splice it into some power wire in the trunk?

I wired mine to the trunk light so that the neons were on only when the trunk was opened. No need for a controler. Just a $1.99 relay

the p5 doesn't have a "trunk light" that turns on when you open the trunk, its just a ghey switch u turn on/off and it doesn't work very well

DaViper, does yours turn on when you open the trunk or do you have to flip a switch? if it turns on when open, how did you do it?

Actually that's not true. When you flip the switch to ON, the light turns off when you close the hatch. The fact that Mazda even gave us the option to turn it off manually is beyond me...

Install a pin switch or even a tilt switch. That way you can use double sided tape and not have to screw into anything.
