Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

I have an Autometer boost gauge in the MSM. Always been a good gauge, and reads very close to the ECU log.

AEM gauges are decent but I hate the plastic construction. It makes them seem cheap. I never had any issues with my old Autometer boost gauge but I never really liked the oil pressure gauge I had. If going with Autometer I recommend getting the 270-degree sweep gauges. I'm a big fan of the construction and look of Marshall Instruments gauges but I can't vouch for their accurary/reliability.

I already have a guage pod I'm just waiting for Christmas to see if I get the gauge. I am getting the Innovate MTX oil Temp/Pressure dual gauge (Jake has it) and I like the look and the fact that its only one gauge so I don't have s*** going on everywhere

I creep on 247, too. lol

I'm glad that gauge pod will go to good use. My DD MS6 suffices with the display on the AP v3.

I thought I saw you on here as well. Haha, thanks again for the great deal. I appreciate that.

That's what I like about you, Jon. You only give advice on things you personally used or have had.

I'll probably go with Autometer, good prices and they've been around forever and have tons of options to match the OEM gauges and theme a little better. Thanks for the input and advice, gentlemen!

I have the AEM Digital gauges and they're are very close to spot on. Not sure of the AEM Mechanical ones, I agree that Prosport gauges suck.

Install all the gauges...

Haha, epic pic Will. And the more I think about it the more I'll probably just get another AEM wideband (wish I didn't give Wes my brand new one that went with my P5) and the AEM temp gauge from JT so they will match, and pick up an AME oil pressure gauge to round out the 3 gauge pod.

In other news, Jake came over and showed me how to change my fuel filter. Thanks again, buddy!

Before and after;

Well, thanks to Patrick (^^^ that guy, the wheel *****) for sending me the Craigslist ad, I picked up some 5Zigen FN01R-C 17x9 +35 wheels powder coated Fanta orange. They have stupid stretched Khump Ecsta tires that are getting removed ASAP and shipped to JT in Canada, eh, to be mounted to my old RPF1's he is currently bathing in his tub at home. And my 235/45-17 Hoosiers I bought from Marlon are getting mounted up for the 2014 season.

Will will make me a Fanta sticker for one spoke on each wheel. lulz.

I wish the offset was +45 but they will work. And will look better with proper sized tires on the wheels.

And I "installed" my winter time shifter bootie my GF made me. haha

hey now i took the wheels out of the tub before wifey got home plus i just wanted to make them feel at home now in the cold North.

Little update while I took advantage of the 55' weather today;

Oil change again on the new motor (everything looks good and nothing on the magnetic oil plug) with Penzoil Platinum 5-30 and K&K cartridge.

I attempted to install both Cree LED fog lights, and managed to break one. These are very fragile little buggers. But I ordered another set ($26 on eBay) so i put the good bulb in on the passenger side where it's harder to reach.
Hulk smash!

Next is the fog light mod. I know there's a simple how-to on MSF but I bloody hate wiring...

And lastly, installed the TWM shifter extender. I'll report back in a couple weeks how this feels, jury is still out.

Also ordered a CX Racing front mount intercooler ($305 shipped on eBay). But won't install that until spring, promptly followed by a proper tune.

Evan get rid of that thing it makes you looks like your driving a truck Good Buddy!

Evan, I have one I could have given you, did not know you were in the market for one!!!

After a week, I like the shifter extension. It's closer to the wheel so my paws are back on the wheel faster. Jake installed a Matt Damond shifter plate and I put on a JBR counterweight. JBR bushings might be in order soon. I do feel a bit like a truck driver though, haha. And no worries, Marlon. This was an impulse buy. haha
