Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

Very nice! I like that color. I may have to go there to get tires mounted in the future.

Yeah man. I have another set of track tires in the basement that will need wheels eventually. When I find some, I'll either go there or The Alinement Shop in Tallmadge. They don't advertise mounting, but they have the same setup.

MOAR updates!!!!

Also, does Jake have his own thread? I'm curious what's happening to his beastly creature.

I don't update unless I actually work on the car, silly. This weekend will be an oil change, drain the catch can and install the passenger Corbeau seat again this weekend since it's supposed to be warmer.

Just waiting for warmer temps to install all the goodies I have piling up in the garage.

And as you know, not many MS3/MS6 builds here on M247. I'm sure Jake probably has one on MSF though.

I hate that site with passion.
ZOMFG you haven't donated!?!! You are just a terrible human being!! And you should feel bad!

Hopefully it (warmer temps) last longer than a day or two.... Evan, were there any fitment issues when youhad the Corbeau's in the P5 at all? The reason I ask I am going to order a 2nd seat.

Haha, yeah. I use it for research and very very rarely post. I don't know why everyone pushes to donate when they are usually $2K over the projected monthly goal.

I have the Corbeau FX1's too, Marlon. But I've got the regular sized ones, yours is the wide version right? The only issue with my P5 was the shoulder just barely touched the B-pillar when I had the seat rolled all the way back. But I wouldn't have had the seat that far back when driving. Someone mentioned the Corbeau seats generally run wider than other in the shoulders so it will be close in Spicy. The Corbeau's fit in the MS6 pretty well but are very close to the center console. But no rubbing/touching.

I'm pretty sure Jake does not have a build thread. Just have to ask him and he will tell you.

You can bring them over Sunday if you like? Are we just doing one seat or did you order both? Are we doing harnesses as well? Got the mounting brackets and sliders ready to go?

What time? We can do the harnesses if we have time and I have the sliders and brackets. Lauri wanted to wait and see if there were fitment issues first before the we order the 2nd seat

Busy day today. Took the day off since Jake was free and we wrenched on Fatty. Got the CPe safe seals installed, the DM power steering cooler installed, the oil spin on conversion, samich plate and sensors installed (ran the wiring to the firewall but still need to run it to the gauge), did a compression check (180-182-180-185), EGR delete plate, new (used) PS pump, A/C delete pulley and new belt, trimmed the crash bar and mocked up the FMIC. I'm pooped so I called it a day. Will get back at it tomorrow.

**** your crash bar. It may have killed my grinder though, it overheated and now makes funny noises. Go-go Harbor Freight tools!

Oh, and none of the Toyota seals were leaking. ;)

And I can't thank Jake enough for using his free day to wrench on Fatty with me!

All that work and only 4 pictures!?! ;)

I bet it feels awesome to have all that stuff accomplished, great job.

Very nice, looks like you got A TON accomplished! I need to do an install day soon lol!

Is your motor the high mileage one that came with the car or the brand new block you bought from Mazdaspeed? I should probably do a compression test for my 120k mile motor. It's probably not good lol

Huge thanks again to Jake and Dave for their help this weekend!

#2, this is the new motor. We did a compression check on it for S&G's.

I didn't take many pics at all, too busy wrenching...

New CPe seals:

New Matt Damon PS cooler (and rust)

FMIC. As mentioned, I cut the crash bar to move the core up into the grill better. Also just needed some minor trimming to the bottom bumper lip but everything is still there and it fits great.

Barely noticeable which is nice.

Bling bling! (It's gold DEI reflective heat tape)

This pic was worth all the effort for the FMIC. I was stopped at a light this morning. My old TMIC would be probably around 120 degrees. No more heat soak at auto-x's. :)
