So I got some online quotes from some junkyards (I just hate that term though) for a KL-G4. There is one for $1460 w/ 31,ooo miles. I tried to talk the salesman down because I don't really want to play THAT much for the motor but with only 31k it sure is tempting...
And it's tough finding an OBD2 KL-G4. But I really think it would be nice to have a completely working and damn close to OEM V6 in the P5. As of now I'm planning on using the 626 wiring harness exclusively and removing the P5 harness. After everything is triple checked and the car has been running okay for a month, of course.
Is there a way to see if a motor is OBD2 with a visual inspection? There are a crap-ton of motors on eBay but the years are always bunched together... But having OBD2 will be kickass to have a MAF and not the VAF ro whatever that is. I'll call some of the engine shops who have sent me quotes and see if I can't get a complete engine harness and ECU along with the motor. That would make life much easier. Till then, the search continues... Good thing I don't have a life.
ps- This eBay listing pic is hilarious. (No, I'm not buying parts off of eBay. Don't worry, fellas.)
