warranty is a good excuse.... reason J/K Man if you want reliabiality get a toyota XB square car they have tons of room, good mpg, and aftermarket.
You get what you pay for. I was a gm man before I owned my 3. Had 2 newer models truck/suburban. The combined service ( a speaker fell out of the holder) in 140K. (Also still own a 2 door tahoe that I have had for a year and a half, I have put a new engine and fuel pump into it after 220,000 milezz on the first engine)There is a price on durability. I would rather have an 96 carolla than any new kia. No warranty but I can beat the s**** out of it and not need to call a tow truck.

Not trying to be an @$$$ but you own a superior machine now. Pay a grand or so to one of those warranty services on tv, or buy one from the dealer you bought your's from. Common knowledge is that coverage varies by price of the warranty. Insider info is that the vendors..(finance people often buy them for $600 to $900 and sell them for double.. So Haggle the bastages!)
I don't want to flame but as I am stepping off my soap box I hope I helped someone.
ALAS even without ZOOM there is that new car smell..

The xB is ugly as hell I got my Mazda3 over the xB and tC. the xB feels like you are sitting on cardboard. The dash is fugly and it's just boring.
I've owned a Honda Civic (92) Isuzu Rodeo (00) PT Crusier (03) Chevy Equinox (05) and now my Mazda3 (07). The PT was a POS but it was a Turbo and whoever had it before me didn't take care of it at all. As for the others they were great cars.
My sister got a KIA Rio when she got out of High School (04 I believe) it was a great car, for the money. It was cute and fit her needs she traded it in for a Mazda5 but never has a problem with it. KIA's are great cars they are built well and safe.

The #1 reason I want a new car is because I was T-Boned in my Mazda and a friend was going to ride along with me but she ended up following behind me and where the F 150 hit on the pasenger side was where she would have been sitting and my car doesn't have side airbags and it scared me that if my friend would have been in the car with me she might have been reall hurt.

***Oh and I thought I was getting a 3 with side airbags because I had looked at a top of the line 3 and was sold on it but I didn't want or need the bigger engine so I went down to an iTouring and no one informed me that I lost the ABS and side airbags. (Didn't want the bigger engine because insurance was going to be more)

I would still not get a kia soul. But I would not drive a T-boned 3.
My Gt Has the side airbags. I feel for you. Man You are better off buying Used! Maybe less than 3 years old. A cool looking car with low miles that you for sure would love. All for less$ and buying a bullet proof warranty to get added to the price financed.

I have not had a 3rd car for about a year and I will soon get a MSP. I know how the new to used market works and buy and trade alot. I could lease a new WRX but I will own the MSP after a few years.

The 08 3 GT I own is like car number 14 And the 99 2 door Tahoe fishing truck was bought after that cash. I am no old man but at 28 yrs old the mazda and tahoe are soon to be my longest owned cars. If you are a student and have credit LEASE anything in your payment range. If not buy used.

I hate ford (GM Man and proud even with their eminent crumbling empire)
but I would rather see anyone in a ford than a KIA.
Their stock rose $1.60 to almost $6.00 in last 6 months.

off subject but on the GM commet "like a rock"... sitting on the side of the road. lmfao I dont like a GM product never had and dont think I will. Howeve some people have better luck with one company then other. I just happen to have luck with fords and every chevy i have owned has literally broke down at least twice a year due to random faults.

The gf and I have been eyeballing cars to replace her 2000 focus, and right now the Soul is pretty much at the top of the list. It's not the kind of car I'd buy for myself, but I've got to admit I'm kinda feeling the looks of the sport model.... either red or black with the red/black interior.

If you like ford get a SVT FOCUS and put a jackson supercharger on it.
Same platform as the 3. 200+ hp with the charger.
I am trying to help you man. I have a guy at work who put 10K down on a Sorento like almost 2 years ago and is still upside down on it. (I think his apr is like 9 ...Bad but not terible.)
If you already bought the soul then say it.

O I did trade a savage hunting rifle for a ford Bronco2 last year and drove it for a month with no probs. Still I sold it to pay for suspension on my Tahoe just cuz I wanted Rancho shocks.
Domestic auto reliability stances will always lie in the eye of the beholder.
