Just a goddamned piece of paper

Believe it or not this is a true story. just not the context Mr. bush said that in. that one aide did not say those exact words. He was aurguing with bush about the limitations of the constitution and bush was voicing the fact that it was just a piec of paper. A piece of paper that has been amended several times when the need arised. Bush want's this renewed because it decresses the likelyhood of another attack while he is still in office. I'm willing to bet ANY president in his position would want it renewed as well. I have no doubt that he was reasonably frustrated.

yea that was just another fine example of someone only quoting have of the conversation so that the democrates and liberals look good. I wonder how many people here have ever said something that didn't come out the right way. I know I do that all the time.

See this is my favorite part of political debates. This is the part where the conservatives come in and accuse the liberals of twisting words around. The REPUBLICANS accuse the democrats of spinning something that was said to look good for them.

Anyone else find that a little ridiculous?

And I dont give a fat flying **** about what context it was used in, the president, liberal or conservative or anything else, should not say that about the Constitution. The President of the United States is sworn to protect the constitution, not denounce it.

We didn't need to read this to figure it out.

We can plainly see that Bush doesn't give a damn about the Constitution of the United States.

To refer to it as a "piece of paper" only implies that he thinks it should be changed. Not cool.

I don't give a damn about it either. It's out dated and needs to be upgraded in many aspects. This is somthing the founding fathers expected us to do. Liberals have been saying it for ******* ever.

I don't condone Bush's choice of words but the media will twist anything he says anyway so who really gives a ****? I don't.

Changing it and totally disregarding it along with people's individual freedoms are two different things.

Shirley, you're not saying that america has no real constitution anymore, and that whoever runs the country currently has the right to change what america's governing principles are at their whim, are you ?

I don't really find any of those sources to be too credible.

The constitution was ordained and established to secure the "blessings" of liberty.. in order to form a more perfect union... establish justice... insure domestic tranquility...

Even if he did say it what's the big deal. So he used poor choice of words. Many other presidents have too. Don't forget the blowjob in and the out right ball faced lie, that most all US women said was no big deal. Every body said oh leave him alone he's just human like everyone ells. But when it comes to Bush he has to walk the line and god damn him if he slips. Get over it. Like the other said, if it was said in anyway that was meant badly we would have heard of it.

"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked.

AH but the difference is that Bush didn't lie, the intel was wrong. At the time he made the decision to go in everyone was on his side. Were as Cliton just plain lied. Not only that but it goes to show his real character. If a man can sit there and openly lie to not just us but to his wife and daughter then he isnt much of a man at all. It wasnt that big of a deal that he cheated, hell every one would have had a HARD time not doing something like that. But when you are busted and you know it own up to it. Be a man.
