WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY MAZDASPEED!OK guys I got my Speed back to day and the body shop did a great job with it but check this out!I pick the car up at the body shop and talked to the shop manager for a few while I do a walk around of the car to check for ANYTHING wrong.Their work looked great, but then i popped the hood to check out the new install and:wtf: The service guys put scratces all over my piping, valve cover cover(HUH),and on the core support! So I talked to them about it and kinda straightened it out .They said they would replace anything that I couldn't get the scratches out of after I try but they didnt offer to fix the core support scratches.Anywho thats not the point,I go to drive my car home and the first time i get on it and no turbo "WHINE":wtf: Nothing absolutely QUIET!When i bought this car it screamed like a mack truck! Now with the new motor and turbo it's quiet but i don't know why?I know some of you guys MSP's have quiet turbo's but mine didn't and now it does.I don't like it!This is not the car i bought!!!!

IWANT MY WHINE!!:'(

WHAT SHOULD I DO GUYS?

Get one of those speakers you put under your hood that makes it sound like you have a really loud turbo and BOV....na, jk

Buff the core support it should help.

That's odd your turbo should sound the same as it was when it was removed.

Its a new turbo and it had the infamous "TURBO WHINE" when it was bought new???

Hmmm

My car runs great and I never have noticed the turbo making too much noise unless I was going over 4500-6000 RPM.
I can hear the BOV when I shift at low RPM but even that is just kinda of a moosh spurty sound not really much to it.

Probably just a brain fart here, but what is this "core support" you are referring to? Radiator core support? the crossmember that the radiator connects too? That is the only thing I can think of.

That whole thing about the scratches and all really sucks. They should be the ones trying to get the scratches out, not you. Talk to the dealership manager. They damaged your stuff, you shouldn't be responsible for that.

And about the turbo whine...I kinda like the speaker under the hood idea:rolleyes:

The last thing I would want to do is give this car back to the dealer. Fix it yourself and fix it right, then go to a different Mspeed dealer for service. Tell them what happened at the other dealer, and that you switched to him for that reason. Unfortunately everyone doesn't have the choice of about 10-15 Mspeed dealers like I do but it seems like the current dealer doesn't "understand" what Mazdaspeed is. People that buy the MSP are VERY particular about their cars. That means if it doesn't look and feel the same as when it came into the shop(Unless that's why you brought it in :D ) there will be complaints. If the service guys don't treat the MSP the way it is supposed to be treated, like a very Limited Edition car, then they don't deserve to work on it. These are the type of dealers where after you take your car in you'll find McDonalds hamburger wrappers sucked through your intake and French Fry boxes Wedged in between the front grille and your custom intercooler. :wtf:

damn that sucks......Does the car feel as fast as it did before??? If it feels just as fast I would not worry about it, but if not...take it back and give them hell.

the best sound the turbo can make is racing on back roads when you hang it up around 5000 cause you are in a turn and then hearing it snap to full boost in under 1 second my friend said it's the best sounding turbo he has heard. then again if it had a 20G like my RX-7 then nothing compares to the rotary turbo sound. I would give it some time after all it is a new engine right.

OK to answer a few questions,When i bought the car new it sounded like a turbo car from day one.......AND NOW IT DOESN'T!I'm not so sure that it is not as fast(been three weeks since i drove it last)It might be or it might not be ,I dunno!I will know when I take it to the travck next thurs. for a couple of baseline runs again. This will tell me whats up.As for the turbo working ,yes it is ....We hooked up a temporary boost gauge last night and went for a drive and it was getting about 6psi on the gauge. So it's getting boost but where did my whine go?I want it back !It used to sound like I had a mack truck's turbo under my hood!:wtf:
Matt:cool:

Maybe the whine was a sign of your engine going kaboom. Maybe its good that its not there. Just get a better exhaust or something.

Chris

There is no noticable whine from my turbo, so maybe your whine was a sign of the impending doom of your motor.
