Hi
Totally new to mazda after 20 years of Ford's
Is my i stop activated when you have I stop illuminated in amber on your dashboard(am i just waiting for this to turn green to start working) or does my i stop amber light need to be switched off to be activated

iStop light needs to be solid green for iStop to work (depends on a host of other conditions like aircond setting / pressure on brake pedal, position of steering wheel to name a few).
I admit I have never seen my iStop light go amber.

i-Stop amber - system switched off from switch.
i-Stop green - system engaged (engine should have stopped on the car)
i-Stop (not illuminated) - system is active

Are you manual or automatic?
There are many conditions that affect i-Stop, like temperature, steering wheel position, battery charge etc.
Check 4-10 of the UK Mazda6 Owners Manual.

One condition where i-Stop is automatically disabled is when you put on Front Windscreen Demister (via the dedicated demister button below the clock).
That was a surprise given that you can achieve the same effect (demisting) using the Mode button (air to face / air to foot / air to demist) and iStop will continue to work.

@whiteline..sure but I can have aircond going as well as demisting via the Mode button and iStop continues to work. Not sure what is so special about the Front Windscreen Demister button.
