Is this a decent system (will it all work well together)?

I see no problem with a renewed item as long as it has a warranty of sorts (the Infinity has a year warranty from Infinity).
Also, my friend took a look at my trunk and said that I might need to get some holes drilled (?) so that the amp and sub wont overheat in the trunk...is this true?

I'm pretty impressed with those infinity amps, we sell them at work, and they DO, indeed seem to have thatmuch power. I'm pretty sure the 111w is cea ratied. Also they've been pretty damn rocksolid reliable for us. Only rela problem is they're a bit tall, not sure about fitting underseat.

Poseur, I am gonna mount it to the back of my seat, so I think itll be fine.
Thats perfectly fine.
The back of the rear seat is the standard place any shop will mount an amp.

it sounds to me like you are well on your way to making this happen... congrats, you will have a 1000X times beter setup than what you had originally planned. (thumb)

aren't KFC buckets tapered?

get all the different sizes together and make a horn.... that would rock your sox off...

really, I want to build some folded horns for the house... just cause... so its kinda on my mind. serious voodoo magic

Will that Knuconceptz wiring kit work still? Also, is it really only $.50 for the extra 20' of wire or do I have to select a quantity of wire? Thanks.

The Knuconceptz wiring kit is the best price around...it is afterall just wire. It's $.50 per foot so if you enter 20 in the amount box it should come to $10.00.

shoot how much they charging for those infinitys? i have a set of reference6kcs 6.5 comps i'm looking to get rid of.

Thats the reason I don't reccomend infinity, most everyone that buys them looks to upgrade quickly even though they have nothing but good things to say about infinity...odd

^^^^^
That's why I never recommend coaxial speakers. Sure people like them because they sound better than stock...but once you realize that you can get better sound, you quickly want to toss them out for a set of components so you can get the best sound.

There are people who are completely satisfied with coaxials...but they are not the same type of person that would log onto a forum to ask for speaker suggestions. If they were the type of person that would be completely satisfied with coaxials, they would have already bought them at Circuit City and had their hack-job installers put them in.

(rofl)
So true about Circuit City. Thats why I'll spend more money on higher quality product, and install myself to 1) learn how to do things, and 2) not support dumbasses.

of course in some situations where money is tight, having something atleast halfway decent to get you by while you can A. train your ears, B. Save up money, and C. figure out what components you want. Is not necessarily a bad thing.

Alright well I think Im gonna go with these:
Infinity Kappa 572.5cf speakers.
Only problem is that their out of stock at sounddomain.com

Ah...big problem. Cardomain says that the speakers are discontinued now...
I can two things: Buy everything but my speakers from Cardomain and buy the speakers somewhere else or choose another pair of speakers. In the second case, what does everyone suggest for the same price as the Infinitys?

Thanks. Last step before I purchase the system.
