im wondering if the MAZDASPEED Protege5 exhaust system is worth getting, or if its the same system that comes with every p5...idt it is considering its MS. but could someone let me know if this is worthwhile?

alright cool, yea im not really lookin for any HP gains, wont have the car too long, but id like it to not sound like a rice burner. plus i cant afford a catback system. i think im gonna go with the ractive SRI and the MS exhaust and leave it at that

not real new, been on here about a month. im just tryin to find either an axelback kit, or a muffler that will take away the ricer sound of this car, cuz the 2.0 does sound really ricer, and id much rather prefer a deeper sound. how much was the Racing Beat muffler, and whered ya get it from?

I got that exhaust. It's awesome. Gets a bit loud after your car warms up. I think most of the noise is on the inside though.

how do our cars sound rice? and if your not going to "keep the car for not that long" like you said why upgrade stuff. Aftermarket parts will only lower the resell value of the car, so upgrading if you not going to keep the car for a long time makes no sense. Anyway if you just want a deeper sound, just get a muffler from magnaflow they make great sounding exhaust parts. http://www.magnaflow.com/

im gonna be drivin the car for about 2 years, and i just think mine sounds ricer. i guess its everyones own opinion, but thats what i think. and yea i suppose ill check out magnaflow mufflers. and i wanna upgrade it so that i can sell the parts when i sell the car.

it's a decent exhaust. around town it sounds very nice. once you get on the freeway it drones quite a bit after 70mph. after about a year, i got tired of it. personal experience, though.

alright, ill think about it, but for now i think im just gonna look at some mufflers, save some money, and ill get a deeper sound, if anythin, i can have the guys at the garage custom bend some piping for me.

I have a Racing Beat, the real one. No droning, sounds great too. I am sure if I went to seel it, I would have no problem, too. Of course, I will only sell it when I get another car or gets wrecked/totalled.

Worth every dime. Looks great, and sounds great too. Click here for a video with sound. I have exhuast leaks at a couple gaskets, I know. I have gaskets that arrived today, will sound better and hope to get a new clip.

with an SRI you won't be able to hear the exhaust anyways...
I had the 03.5 msp exhaust that I got shortened and it was pretty nice. I didn't really notice a drone above 70 but that may have been because I ride with the windows down and the stereo up

I have heard droning on cars with SRIs and CAIs. It annoyed the hell out of me as a passenger. Was like torture on long trips, I bet. You get what you pay for though.

raider that muffler sounds nice, id look into it, but its expensive heh, since everyone is blastin the MS exhaust, i think ill ditch that idea, and just look for an aftermarket muffler. any ideas on where i could find a decent sounding muffler for around $100?

for $100 you'll probably have to buy just the muffler and weld it on. on my previous car i put an arospeed muffler on it. it didn't sound ricey at all, very low and very deep without the drone. it last a couple years before my car was totaled. and i think you could find on fro $100. just an option.
