Introducing the cp-e CX-7 Dual Exhaust!!

Well, I guess I'm number 2. I put in my order today. How do I reset my PCM after I get the system installed? Is this something that has to be done or will the PCM adjust to the new exhaust over time?

Nice exhaust.....but way too rich for my liking.

That's what it costs to put out a quality set-up. Just because you're not prepared to pay that much doesn't mean its too rich.

On a side note, I'm still waiting to see a dyno sheet or before and after G-Tech times. For me its all about improving the acceleration, I could care less about a different exhaust note.

I was trying to wait on the dyno sheets but I went ahead and purchased the system. I watched as it was installed this morning and I can tell you that I will be very surprised if this exhaust system doesn't produce a pretty good gain. The stock system is a 2" diameter pipe with restrictions throughout the system. The CP-E system is a 3" diameter system with no restrictions from the downpipe back through the dual mufflers. Also, the stainless system looks so much better than the crappy looking stock system that is currently rusting under your cx.

Show me the Dyno

Want the quickpower pipe, but would like to see the dyno results first... any news? Also, would adding the pipe void the factory warranty?

Since it is illegal in every state to remove a cat, I could see how a dealership might try to give you a problem. That said, I doubt it would actually cause any warranty issues by itself. No such thing as voiding the warranty; only voiding coverage on damage caused by aftermarket parts...

I was hoping I could add on to this for clarification or advice.
Im considering doing a few mods (ok Im lying I want to do all of them!)
Dealers are ok doing warranty work with mods installed as long as there is no proof the mod caused the problem that is being addressed with the warrantee?
Washington State last time I had emissions done it was on a 1999 they just hooked it up to the cpu for the emissions test I would assume they would do the same for the CX7? To my knowledge they only stick the probe in on older cars. And if they do just hook it up to the CPU will it still past emissions with the exhaust mod?
One last question which may not be relevant since I have a brother in-law that would most likely help me with these, but if I wanted or had to since it is illegal in most states to remove a CAT how is this system legal to sell and what shop would install it? Or do they just look the other way?

Thanks for any advice!

Any muffler/exhaust shop should install the new one for you, and yes ONLY if the modified part caused the damage would your warranty claim be denied.

If your dealer thinks you're some type of sap, and tries to tell you the new aftermarket parts void your warranty, go somewhere else, they're not the type of people you want to bring your car to.

Typically systems that remove emissions equipment are sold "for off road use only"

The Quikpower pipe will not fail OBDII compliance testing (ie, hooking up the computer for emissions testing). The ECU only monitors the 1st cat, not the 2nd cat. The Quikpower pipe removes the 2nd pipe.

Hey Grey Ghost how are the autoexe springs? How has the ride changed etc. ? Thanks.

I love the springs. It changed the ride by lowering the center of gravity on the cuv and the handeling is awesome. You can't tell a difference in ride quality. The ride feels the same when driving down the road. The stance of the cuv is much more aggressive since it is squatting down over the tires with very little wheel gap.

ON A SIDE NOTE:

Has anyone installed the CorkSport DownPipe. They are claiming a 20 hp gain to the wheels from the DownPipe. I don't have a dyno sheet on my cp-e exhaust system but I can tell a difference in power. I am thiinking of adding this DownPipe to the cp-e system (mid pipe & mufflers). This could potentially give an increase of close to 40 hp in the exhaust set-up along with the 10 hp gain I am getting from the CAI. That would put me just shy of the 300 hp mark. By the way, the more performance parts I put on this cuv, the more I enjoy driving it in manual mode. This thing if flat out fun to drive.

Here is the link to the DownPipe...

I doubt a TBE and CAI will give a CX7 300 hp at the wheels. Most MS3/6 owners are having to install bigger turbos to break 300 whp.

The sum gain from performance mods are rarely A+B+C..

wow, that sounds great.

um, that's exactly what "too rich" means..."too rich for my blood," or "more than i am willing to pay."
