interior decorators?

bedroom almost complete....

so my bro and i just purchased our first home and are needing some help on decorating, more so me than him. id like to re-do my bath and bedroom. i can take pics if that helps. just trying to get some ideas (from others maybe even females (dunno))

Are you two going to have an overall theme for the house or are you decorating it per room?

What color options do we have to work with? Are you planning a remodel or just decorating?

here are a few pics of my room/bath. im wanting to simply decorate. id like to keep my bed/bath on the same theme, somewhat. my room is an ash gray and the bath is a sand/khaki color. my bedroom furniture is going to be either, dark wood or black.

Deep red, almost merlot would be a good choice. Very "bedroomy," but still quite masculine. There's a set (quilt cover & shams) that IKEA carries. Super soft, I think it's 300-400 thread count. Let me see if I can find the name of it. Maybe use grays/blacks as accent colors? Use those colors for pillowcases, sheets, throw for the bed or curtains? There's a company called Smith & Noble that has custom draperies - good place to get ideas. They have some grommet top panels that would be a good fit. Sort of architectural, but with the right fabric it will be a good fit for a bedroom.

today i purchased another addition to my bedroom (quilt and shams). my bedroom is ALMOST finished, i still have to get a few more items (a differnt accent pillow, a throw/blanket, picture/canvas above the headboard and other minor items) let me know what you think of my interor decorating skills or lack there of.
