intake sound

noticeable to say the least.
Gives it a slight growl and wisping air sound at times.

Plus when you turn it off, makes a nice sound as the excessive intake air is released.

I love that sound!!
At WOT under load the engine really growls, low growl. Between shifts, when going back to the accel pedal, you can usually hear the opening throttle and sucking air too,it's nice.

hehe I love that part to, normally make it a point to turn the car off as I am partially out of the car. Just so I can fully hear the sound...

DUDE!!! I do the same thing just for that sound!!:D

Do the sounds from CAI and Ram Air vary?

I've convinced myself I need one just for the sound!
Forget the HP gain!

Very Slight differences between the sounds. And they really only benifet the cars with slightly better throttle response and the noise. Not much HP gain at all.

I was curious about this myself. I decided to take off the intake piping up to the air filter box.

Damn it's loud.

At WOT, my P5 seems to just scream at everything in its path: GET THE F*$K OUT THE WAY! I can't imagine the sound with a cone filter...

Plus, it's a minor amusement at the drive-thru... rev it up a little and hear the "shhpp" as it ingests air.... schweeeeet :)

I love that....

I do it too. Open my door a tad just to hear the... "pshhhh". And yah... driving around at about 2-5km/h is fun too. So much hissing its beautiful.

I met a P5 owner who had the intake cams in and a bunch of other minor things. His car hissed so LOUD. You could hear it about 50 ft away hissing.

cyomega, hows having none of that piping working out for you? i was planning on doing it and cant see it hurting anything seeing as theres no filter in the pipe im taking out...the only downside is it may be getting hotter air than if the stock intake was still there

I took it off too, i dont feel anypower difference, duh... but it does sounds a little cooler, second gear is where i can hear it the most, ill just keep it like that until i can get an auctually intake, its not "AWESOME!!!" its alright though..
