Thumping sound from CX-5 rear

I recently acquired a 2015 CX-5 with 225,000 miles. Runs and drives great but did notice something odd after I purchased it.

Low speed parking lot maneuvers, only in forward gear, not reverse, when making a sharp turn/90° turn, there's a thumping sound from the rear. Almost seems as if the rear differential is engaging or something is up with that but otherwise I have no issues driving this thing forward or reverse otherwise.

I did happen to come across something when searching on Google about bushings for the rear differential as a possibility and did find that aftermarket supplier rock auto does stock these, so it leads me to believe that this is something common.

Thoughts?

With that amount of mileage there's no telling what the source is. Rather than zero-in on one particular item, thorough full undercarriage inspection, front to back might expose various things worn and needing attention soon.

I’d check the rear shock upper mount and see if that is broken. Do a search here and It’s a common issue. Unfortunately if that’s the problem, you may have to get entite OEM rear shock which comes with the top mount but the price now is tripled than several years ago. There’re some alternatives by using the upper mount (not exactly the same part but doable) from other CX models which can be bought from Mazda.

Doesn't sound like this at all. As mentioned I have zero noise from the rear otherwise. Nothing over potholes or anything. It's literally a low speed turn like in a parking lot that are 90° maneuvers. Normal driving down the road it's absolutely fine.
