Installing my header and midpipe...

Threads were stripped on 60% of the EGR nipple!

I hear that! When I went to put a new exhaust gasket on 4 years later (couple months ago, ha) mine was stripped so I did the dryer hose remedy in the how-to forums to replace my egr. Everythings working great now.....

I hear ya on the hassle part....it's those damn rusty bolts we have to contend with. It took me approx an hour to change out my axleback. After spraying it and trying to get the bolts off with no luck I finally drove to Meineke and they cut them off.

This is actually my Friday off.....if you'd like to, shoot me a pm and we can discuss there.

ok ill let you know then if it happens, gotta figure out a few things still.

just got done soaking the spring loaded bolts and a few other bolts as well. i am going to continue u to do this every time i get back from class this week. i had to use the stock jack to get under the car though, im not small enough to get under otherwise.

ok so since the midpipe has a o2 bung after the cat, if I was to have the o2 wires extended and put the o2 sensor into that bung, there should be no cel correct? if this is the case how can i extend the o2 wires?

call up Jason at onlinemazdaparts. they sell an 02 extention wire since the MSP has the 2nd 02 sensor in the midpipe as well

If not, just cut and splice the wires yourself with an extention.

Ok sounds good.

I would think that would eliminate your cel. I know that using the O2 bung in the MSP midpipe will work and the bung is inbetween the two cats.

If you don't want to do your own splicing etc, here's the info for the harness that I bought - It was $37.95 ($44.45 w/shipping). The part # is BPY167020

i'll be splicing ma own. lol.

Save myself $45 buckeroos

also, found another MSP exhaust for $25....so....just waiting on a reply from dude!

I plugged the o2 bung with a drain plug in my sls midpipe and just did the non-fouler trick on the o2 bung on my OBX header.
Haven't thrown a CEL since. I also replaced all the hardware.

Yeah, the no-fouler in an OBX will be perfect

I'm running a Ractive and have no bung for a 2nd 02 sensor

hmmm, i have the non-fouler stuff already so i guess i am just going to wing it. take everything off and go from there.

ok, just making sure you're aware you need to drill one of the parts out. lol

Not saying you are by any means!!! Just double checking you got your goods all in line ready for the install. Sorry if it came across pompus

haha no u didnt, i was actually implying i was ignorant haha, i know you were just helping me out and thanks!

i had from the header back all installed in 1.5 hours. just jacked it up as high as i could all the ways around and had all the tools and everything ready to go. as for some of the rusted bolts i fit a bar under my car and puy it of the rent so i had more leverage to get it loose. i replaced all the bolts with heavy duty SS bolt, washers and nuts that i had laying in my work truck so they wouldn't rust again. when your loosing or tightening the bolts on the head be carefull i snaped one trying to get it loose so i heated up my car a little and they all came out with a little tug. you can also stripp them when you put them back in to so be vary carefull on how much you tighten them

if i had off i would do the drive(drive) just to help ya out but i got to work witch sucks ha

also iv had the non-fouler trick on there for like 30xxx miles or so and still no cel :D

hey havent seen you around here in a while, but yea i have been soaking some of the bolts on the car in pb blaster the last two days. thank god i have a garage at my house here at school (i dont at my normal house). snow sucked here today!
