Installed 2 racing hart rims on P5

Well since my front tires are down to the belts ( something is up with my alignment again) I decided to install the 2 MSP rims I have instead of buying new tires for the 16 inch rims. Right now I have them on the front but will transfer them tot he rear, DAMN they look way better then the factory 2002 rims. Looks a little funny with 17 inch racing harts on the front adn stockers ont he rear, but when I switch them around I'll have kind of a raked look, haha and YES I still need to shortent he tailpipe, mna my P5 is starting to look ghetto rice.

Anyways I have a question about the racing harts. The sidewalls of the tires seem to curve inwards, meanign the tires are too narrow for the rim, but they are the factory sized tires for the racing hart rims, although different brand tire. When I put them on the front of the P5 the sidewall really bends inwards, doesn't look right, but I dunno, maybe the car needs to settle a bit as well after I fully extended the shocks.

Another question, what alignment specs do I get now? I hear the MSP specs are different, since the whole front suspension will be a little different with the taller tires I assume I should go witht he MSP specs correct? I am keeping the taller tires, I don't want any smaller of a sidewall, plus it is more forgiving on the KM's

please put a picture up and I'll try to find you a msp alignment spec thread, I saw one the other day.

ok got the pics uplaoded, yeah its ghetto but only until I get 2 more rims :) ONce I get all 4 rims they will get chromed with the new chrome setup we have, won't be for a while yet but when that gets done I'll be sure to post pics.

here is a pic of what it looks like now, with the MSP rims on the rears only. Car actually looks lowered cause the fender gap is much smaller with the taller tires, once I put the MSP springs on the fender gap should be almost gone but the car will probably sit the factory height off the ground, which is very cool. Check out the fender gap int he rear compared to the front, then imagine the rears with .75 inch lower with MSP springs, see what I mean. :D

AND Yes I still need to shorten the MSP axle back tip :D

here is what it looked like when I first put them ont he front, but until I get an alignment thats why I put them on the rear, I don't care if the stock 16's get worn out, I won't get an alignment until I get the springs put on.

word it doesnt look too bad, will be tight with all four on though, keep me posted

yeah ocnsidering the RH rims are very similar in design it doesn't look horrible, but I can't wait till I get the other two rims

BTW, once I get the other 2 rims I will be chroming all 4 of them with my chroming machine :) its new technology, we should have the machine by thursday this week. (rockon)

yeah I would like to see those results, I am not too big on chrome, but I have seen some nice 5s with it on.

chrome looks awesome on black, any other color then its a tough choice, I like chrome but mostly just on black.

Got my other two Racing Hart rims this week, picked up two new tires today and had them mounted and balanced, as soon as the wife gets home with the car they will be installed. We are heading out for dinner though so pics will have to wiat till tonight or tomorrow, probably later tonight though, and next week the pics with the lowering springs.

Total cost $362US with new rubber (two rims had tires with almost new rubber on them) plus mounting and balancing of tires.

$462 spent if you include the extra 2 racing hart rims I also got. I now have 2 extra instead of needing 2 (rlaugh)

I really like the MSP's on the black P5's. I wish I hadn't painted my ground effects MSP grey now to match my MSP lip. Would have looked really good all black with these rims and my tinted windows. My original plan was to get rims that were matching grey in the center and a crome lip.
Damn!
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

ok snapped off a quick pic before we head out, here it is, can't wait to get it lowered next week, although the fender gap is a lot smaller already with the taller profile tires you can notice how high it sits off the ground now, thus why with the MSP springs it should reduce the fender gap more and have it sit about stock height off the ground.

Now I just need to find one or two more center caps for the front rims.

definately, hopefully sometime next week, I call Monday for an appointment.

OK, I used the search feature and found an old thread to revive. I just boutght two 2003.5 MSP Racing Hart rims on e-bay for my red 2002.5 P5. They have not arrived yet and I just wondered if there were any pics so I could see how they will look. My current wheels are the 16" polished wheels which think look nice but the will look nice on our MPV that has steel wheels as well.
I gather there are light and dark silver racing harts. The pair I bought were the dark ones. Light probably would have looked better but I did not find any for sale and it's time for new tires on both the P5 and MPV.

I don't know what you're talking about with the "sidewall curving in". If you mean that you look at the tir and it has an hourglass type profile, that should never happen. maybe take a picture, but if your inflation is fine (32 psi is spec) and the size (P215/45R17) is correct, then you are probably just worrying too much.

You should absolutely not change your alightment to MSP just because you have MSP wheels. If you got a whole MSP suspension to go with the wheels, then you should.
