Go for the redline Natey, makes a huge difference with the short shifter. You'll love it.

I agree. I'm using a 50-50 mix of Redline Heavy Shockproof and Redline MTL, and the angry, 2nd gear synchro likes it much better.

It does get a little notchy on cold mornings (I'm on the road at 0430hrs), but it's gone when things get heated up.

Winchester Auto has Redline stocked.

Miataforum people have been complaining that Redline MTL is great for a month or two and then makes things crunchy and notchy. People put ATF in for that reason. Might wanna mosey over there and see what they have to say.

I'm using amsoil 75w140 synthetic gear oil and seem to have no problems.
I got lots of quarts as I use it in my jeep too for the diffs. Works great.

hmmm. Amsoil might be a good call, I've also been reading good things about Royal Purple 75W90 over at the RX-7 club.

cold shifts are fine. 75w140 -> flows like 75 in cold - protects upto 140

I think the people with cold shift problems were using 90w140 - that's way too thick.

but you'd be good with the purple 75w90.
