Hwy 9 Fun Run!

I've used MT-90 (I may actually be using it right now..) as well, but also with the Shockproof-mix. I couldn't really tell the difference between the two mixes, but then my tranny has 200k on it and the 2nd gear issue. A new tranny is in the planning, but it'll be the crappy, J-Spec unit with shorter gearing.

I've also heard good things about the Royal Purple, but have yet to try it. Is it sold locally?

i also heard it's a little tricky to replace the TF on our cars, as you neee a pump to get the TF in, due ot the location of the plug or something? Can anyone confirm or deny? Andrew, maybe you can give some guidance here.

And let's go for a drive after!
 
PS: What day did you want to do this? Sat. or Sun.?

I also did a search and found out most of the stuff to change TF. It looks pretty straight forward:

We just need a 23mm socket. Nate, got one? If not, I'll pick one up.
We also need a long skinny funnel to fill it, no pump needed.
3qts. of fluid. Winchester stocks RL, I think, so I'll go pick some up. Nate, want me to grab you some too?

yes a pump or you can do what I did and get a funnel with the flex tubing.
the flex tubing goes into the whole and just poor into the funnel. makes it a little
easier. the only drawback is sometimes the tube falls out the whole and makes a mess.
 
Yes, you need a pump, I have a pump if you guys need one. Also you need a huge socket. I need a tranny fluid change, new front brake pads and an oil change. Saturday?

BFMRGTX posted a couple pages ago that Winchester Auto stocks RL products. I was going to stop by on the way home today and pick some up, if they have it.
If you want I can pick some up for you too. Just let me know how many qts. you need. And 75W90 too, right?

as for SAt., that would work best for me. The earlier the better too. That way we can get it all done, go for a drive, and maybe catch lunch somewhere. I have some other stuff to do (read:GF) so I'd like to have some of the day for that.

Saturday's good for me! Let's make a mini meet out of it...maybe bust out the BBQ or something. How about around 11-12 or so?
Also, there's a Winchester Auto near here in case you don't get a chance to go by the one over there. If anyone can find Royal Purple, I'll gladly pay you for it on Sat.
 
I'm all hooked up with the fluids, I change everything (not talkin about the crankcase) out each January. It's my way of getting over the Holiday season.

I have to work 75 hrs this week, and Saturday is my only day off. If things weren't the way they are now, I'd suggest coming over to my place and doing the work there. I have all the stuff to do the work, in the garage. Only thing I don't have, at the moment, is (stoned) .

Ahhh, to be able to go for a drive right now......

In that case, I may bring the GF with me. Maybe she can hang with Julie and Daisy while us boys get dirty? I can bring some Q-ables as well. Some snausages or hot dogs? I can bring some brewskis, but if we're gonna drive, I'd rather sip on a soda.

Like I said, I'll go by Win. Auto today after work. If they have MT-90, want me to get that? Or would you reather have the Royal Purple?

I'll also pick up the 23mm socket and the funnel we're gonna need.
 
Tony, if you find Royal Purple, pick me up 3 qts., if not then don't worry about it. And yes, 75w-90.
 
OK, so my list is as follows:
Me: 3 qts. of Royal Purple-75w90 or 3 qts. of MT-90-75w90
Ya: 3 qts. of Royal Purple-75w90
Nate: 3 qts. of Royal Purple-75w90 (If I can't find it, do you want MT-90?)


Anyone else? Let me know by 5pm today!

No guarantees I can find it, but I'll post up here tomorrow either way.
