This is an How-To install the AEM F/IC in your car.

You can buy an AEM F/IC here

Step 1 : Install the FIC Software

You can download the latest software here, and the firmware to flash your FIC. The installation is pretty much straight-threw, don't require any advance computer skills.

Step 2 : Flash the FIC

This is an important step, because our injectors work in dual-pulse mode, so we need to flash the version of the FIC with the z110 data. You don't have to understand, just do it :P

So here are the steps. Make sure to choose the z110.hex file (that you download with the firmware file)

Step 3 : Wiring of FIC
Ok, the fun start here
Just follow this diagram, and everything should be fine.

If you have any issue with this just PM me and I'll look in my car to confirm if your right. There is so many wire there, it's pretty hard to see exactly wich wire is plug where.

Step 4 : Connecte the resistor
So now you have to connect the resistor.

Resistance.jpg

1-Tap a wire on the MAF IN+ wire (between the MAF and the FIC), and tap the other side on the ground (77 of the ECU).
2- Cut the wire in the middle, and bridge a resistor of 1100 Ohm (Verify with a tester).
You can put more than 1 resistor to obtain 1100 ohm.
(You could have to try many different resistance, if your car run weird at the idle, try to boost or reduce the resistance, to obtain a clean idle.

So the wiring is over. Go get a ride to verify everything is fine. It is normal that your car buck at 5000 rpm

Step 5 : Set the FIC

Connect to your FIC
The first time it might be hard :

Clique on open, go in C:\AEM\FIC\ and click on basecal.fi6

Then you have to calibrate it
Click on calibrate and follow the step. It will ask you to turn of the car and press the gas pedal all way down (to calibrate the TPS the start the car and run at a specific RPM.

Finally, set the option of the FIC :
Click on setup, make sure every change are in %. Set the Max Clamp of the MAF to 4.6
(je vais vous fournir un print screen de sa bientot).
Set the timming response of the injectors to 600 uS
Make sure all your map are zero'd, and go take a ride
The car should go fine, at every RPM

So your now ready for the Tuning ! Congrats !

Nice. If possible you might want to translate the function section so we can understand.

nice i think alot more sales are gonna start happening with this set up

I think to. Ken should give me a % of his sale...lol

With all the option on the FIC, It's more powerful than the SSAFC v2, easier to tune than the unichip (anybody can tune it, can use it with a disco potato) and a lot cheaper than the SSFTC. If people here start to post their map with their mods, it's gonna be great !

Just clamp the max voltage to 4,6 volt then you don't have any issue of maxing the MAF.
You can tune it by increasing or decreasing the injector, or the MAF voltage saw by the ECU.

If the voltage of the MAF go higher than 4.6 (4.7 and higher), the FIC will send 4.6 to ECU

I'm sure it does work fine, but it's a risky move.. and definitely not a great long term solution to the problem.

the FCD is a MAF clamp, i think that as long as the AFRs are good and you are not knocking then all is good correct?

What are the long term risk of clamping the MAF?
There is probably a way to eliminate the clamp.

There's no risk by clamping MAF, I know some stockers here turn their boost then hit fuel cut, this is caused by maxing maf. As for tuning, WIDEBAND, Period. No matter what clamp or not, your afr and timing is the key.
