Question tho: does anybody notice that their wiper goes a little bit slower? and I think I hear the motor that moves the wiper run a little harder to move the wiper...or is it just me being paranoid?

As far as the wiper being slower I haven't noticed any difference in speed at all. Did you maybe tighten down the wiper nut too tightly causing the motor to work harder?
wrkngmanByTor said:.....I found it was going too slow caused by some resistance. So off it came to do a bit more filing. I think the goal is to grind/file the base of the wiper mount so it is at least a flush surface. I also filed a bit more off the collar piece so that when it all goes back together its not binding up. The other thing I noticed is once you put the nut cover on you cant lift the wiper up all the way. Its a strange design - there's a tiny little piece on the cover that prevents it from lifting up to the "sprung open" position. Makes no sense to me, so I filed this part down(for this part a rotary tool would have been handy), so now I can spring it open when I'm washing my baby.

Mark, did you get your 'kit' from onlinemazdaparts.com? That is where I bought mine and the cap was included and if I remember correctly the cap was $1 thru Jason.
