How To: Kill your turkey with stock pipes

im trying to to do this setup but my only problems making the nipple thing. need to know how a sink stopper washer looks like and where does the vacuum line go?

Tap into the short vacuum source that runs from the manifold, shown in this pic with a T for the FPR kit:

505zoom - Can you do a 2 way if that's already used for the boost gauge?

This is how I set it up:

I ran a new line to the wastegate, and T'd into that for the BPV similar to the stock setup. I then also tapped that line for my boost gauge near the manifold. It seemed to work better having the BOV on it's own line. I want to get one of those fittings for the brake booster line, I think that's probably the best way.

That pic was good but too close up for my understanding. I want to change the least amount of hoses as possible. I have 5k on my car and I don't s*** when I go to the dealer.

but your saying the new Blow off Valve needs it's own vacumn line...?

sois the t already there or do i have to go buy a t thingy. and also would it be best making a nipple for the bov or just making a hole the same size and putting the bottom of the flange in the pipe and sealing?

Here, look closely at these 2 pics, and then go out to your car and look underneath the silver strut tower bar. You will see it.

If you don't want to tap into the wastegate vacuum line, then just try the short line in the pic for both your BOV and your boost gauge. It will work, but you might still have a tiny amount of surge.

The T's are not there. You can buy them at Autozone or Pepboys for cheap.

I wouldn't just glue the flange on there, I think that Mach's design for the nipple is much better.

The only thing that I would add to this is to make sure that the epoxy you buy has enough heat tolerance to hold up right next to the engine.

I have read through the how to twice and I still dont understand the concept of the sink stopper washers. It says 1/4 inch ID is that correct, or is it supposed to be 1 1/4 inch id? Could you possibly draw a pic of what you were supposed to do with that. Thanks.

Got_Boost02 - The insert plug doesn't stick into the hose, it sticks out of it. The radiator hose slides over the ribbed part, know what I mean? It might stick a few millimeters into the pipe, but I doubt it restricts much of anything. Let's just say I'm sure it's not the bottleneck in the system. The stock pipes suck enough on their own to claim that honor.

I'll go to Lowe's tonight and get a couple more washers to show you all what I'm talking about. I'll mock up the assembly since most people seem confused by it. I'll look into getting a better microphone too. 505zoom, does your camera have a microphone input in it somewhere?

Thanks all! I'm glad people are receptive and not critical of an uber-cheap design like this. I don't think things have to be unreasonably expensive to work well.

Oh, and I'll take a better picture of the vacuum hose so you can see where it connects to the stock system. You will need to cut a line and insert a small "T" connector in it. I just picked one close to the BOV and made sure it didn't go to the wastegate. You don't want to accidentaly up your boost to 20 psi by putting a restriction in the line. The HKS would certainly sound cool for a day or two though . . .

I realize what they are confused about,

-You take the plug, drill out the "bottom"
-Slide one of the "washers" onto the end, pushing it down.
-Cut the hole in the IC
-Take the plug with the washer on it and push it through the large open end and poke it up through the hole you drilled into the IC WITH the glue on the over lap (sorta preventing it from just falling it through the drilled hole).
-now slide the other washer down onto the plug. Creating a sandwhich of Plug/washer/glue/IC/glue/washer.
-let it dry
-push the hose down on the "nipple" so you have a "female" end to slide the BOV with the mitsu "male" end.
-Done pretty much.....run the vacumn line.

This right Mach 3.5 Turbo?

Yea Dr. the "sandwhich" is key. It's like a fat reinforcement combination to hold that bastard on.......yes?

Mach - Can you use any type of BOV or does it only work with the HKS... I have a Turbo XS would it work if you used the rad hose and the flange that comes with it.... seems the same
