I wonder what the top speed for an msp is? I know they say after whatever speed the speedo isnt accurate. and its supposed to stop at 135 or so depending the car. but I had my speedo pegged and I was still going.

and here it is!

But i hit what you hit earlier in the rpm range and with a lot left i think....this picture is from about 2 years ago when i was a lot slower... :(

Top Speed = R / T * C
R = RPM
T = Tranny ratio
C = Circumference of your tire

R = 7200 rpm (rotation per minute)
T = .755 (5th gear) * 4.105 (final gear) = 3.099
C = ((((195mm * .50) / 10 / 2.54) *2) + 16in) * pi = 74.346in = 6.200ft

You may wonder where these numbers are coming from
195mm is the width of the tire
.50 is the aspect ratio, which is the relationship between the tire's height and it's width
/ 10 is to convert from mm to cm
/ 2.54 is to convert from cm to in

* 2 for top and bottom of rim
16 is the size of the rim
the total Diameter of the tire is 23.677in
using the formula C = D pi

R / T = 2330.097 RPM (at the wheels) * 60 min = 139,805 RPH (at the wheels)

Top Speed = 139,805 RPH * 6.200ft = 866,791ft/hr = 164.165 mph

Your top speed with change with the size of your tires/wheels.

112 mph gov limited :( stupid jdm ecu, I guess when my mega squirt goes in then I can say 145-150 gearing limited. :)

Well...Duh.

...wow my head spins reading that, math is for stupid people, we smart people just bang the crap out of things untill they work how we want them to, no need to sit down and figure anything out!

Hold up...let me go grab my camera, jump on the nearest crowded highway, blast down at speeds double that of the limit, concentrate on taking the snapshot, then notice the cop in my rear view because I was paying attention to the camera, loose my license, no thanks.

In darkness? If that's the case which I highly doubt, my point is to be carefull and be safe.
