Ask yourself why you bought an (orange) MSP in the first place. Was it to trick it out and turn it into what most would consider a rice mobile? Or did its tasteful mods, clean lines and capable performance interest you the most? You see, despite the wild paint job, most onlookers consider my (your) car to be quite tasteful. With th exception of the GTI Fahrenheit, you'll be hard pressed to find a car that incorporates the flash of the paint... with the class of the overall look. (In other words, 99.9% of the orange cars on the road are nothing more than stereotypical san francisco treats!) But not ours...

So what seperates us? The usual suspects... big fartcan exhaust, hideously over-sized fugly wheels, unpractical tint jobs (thought tint was supposed to keep light OUT lol) the list goes on... let's see, did I forget anything major? oh yes!! tail lights!! how could I forget??? those are usually the first to go... why? cheap and easy... just like my prom da.. nevermind.

So in short, if you want to blend in nicely with the rest of the orange cars on the planet, grab these types of tails... but if you want to stay put in the prestigious (that's right, I said it) .01% save your money and stick with stock... or grab the EDM APCs.

Or you can just tell me to STFU and do whatever you want! haha As everyone's already said, in the end... you gotta do what makes you happy. Even if that means you'll be eating your egg foo young with chop sticks.

I am far from trying to create a ricer. In fact I'm most likely to old to fall into the typical ricer age group. I just think the rear is lacking something with the tails that are on it. I just can't pin point exactly what that is. I did see the bat overlays. Nothing jumps out at me. I love the look of my spicy but as most cars o the street it could use some subtle changes to have it look like I would want it. I think the front could use some Projector headlights I think I might start there and work my way back.

I've had those exact 'carbon fiber look' tails on my Titanium. Here's a couple pics of how they looked, and please excuse the fact that my MSP was winterized at the time and in generally shabby shape. I never liked the blaring red of the stock tails, since EVERYTHING else on my car is tinted or gray/black/silver .. so this is the solution I came up with the time. But I wasn't ever happy with 'em.

They still weren't what I was looking for. As I said in my post earlier, I ultimately went with tinted stock tails and they are PERFECT. I don't have too many shots of them, but here's what I do have. In the one with my new license plate, my car is winterized and absolutely filthy, ugh. And the other one was from tryin' to sell my subwoofers, but you still can get a look at the tails.

Rush...Sick ****'n ride. I love that look. I wonder how those tinted tails would look on a spicy. It's fits perfect on your Titainum!!

tinted tails are perfect. i had smoked rockblockers on my tailights, but b/c of the shape of the tailight there very hard to apply correctly. i took them off a day later because they looked so bad.

but on the other hand, they looked ssiiiiiick

So, after seeing this picture... I put these back in my car.

Problem is... they look a lot better in the picture! Unless I'm missing something, it ooks like whoever owns this car deliberately took out the 2 smaller bulbs underneath the top large one.

Has anyone done this? Any negatives?

I've done this as well, except wired them into the signals :)

Looks cool to have just the 1 big one lit up for driving + brakes, and the triple signal light looks nice as well (but you need to make sure to have a red bulb for all 3 or it looks stupid).

You don't have to do the signal thing, but I saw no negatives doing my mod, so just removing the bulbs (if you just want those lights off and doing nothing) should be fine.

Rockblocker overlays, yup .. But like NCZ13 said, the application is VERY difficult. I completely effed up my first set. For the second, I took the tails and the overlays to a tint shop and paid $10 to have some pro's put them on. There isn't a single wrinkle. I absolutely love 'em.

I think the tails that Chico mentions would look MUCH better if the white strip was either blacked out or 'redded' out with some of those overlays from Blue Batmobile. That was one of the big things I hated about those 'carbon fiber look' tails on my car .. That damn white strip stuck out horribly, and the bulbs were all naked, and blech.
