I also agree you should upgrade the speakers... more bang for the buck sound wise than anything else (other than if you have crappy wires)

either way, just make sure you are happy with what ya got.

I have no need to upgrade the speakers. Cerwin Vega d-9's. 350watts each, 38x19x19" :) two mid range drivers in each, tweeter, and a REAL 15" woofer that hits damn low. old as hell, but can still kick some ass. Still one of the most sought after LOUD speakers to date. I can remember one review that said, Strength: amazing deep bass: Weakness: They break stuff...as in windows, pictures on walls etc. They are that loud.

I have had too many people try to sell me on these newer speakers that are smaller and are supposed to sound better then mine. Well, sure, the ones that cost 10 grand a pop are, but most of the other ones are small speakers that sound like small speakers. I don't mind using those speakers for rear/center channels, but not my main speakers sitting in front.

I'll take the thunderous bass of a 15" woofer in my Cerwin's over any little s*** speaker. I'll admit, my tweeters could be better, but with the setup I have I can tweak it to what I want. That's the advantage of good amps.

Anyways, I would really like to get some Sunfire Stuff. I guess I'm a big Bob Carver fan. But, I can just imagine what something like this costs...

As for some of the other great offers, remember I am in Canada so I'm guessing that shipping that nice 42" plasma is going to be pita.

Defintely keeping you all in mind though. I'm going to read up on some stuff, see what kind of budget I really have and then decide. i have to finish some of the basement first, and I'm really busy at work right now so it might take some time.

Usually about $100-$200 to ship a plasma. Extra fees going to canada, I have no clue.

I wasn't recommending small speakers, like little bookshelfs or somethign, I was thinking floor standing. The problem is that 15" woofer is SLOW, and laggy, and just because a speaker plays a high SPL, does NOT mean it's accurate that's all. To each their own, like i said, until you hear something better, you won't know the difference anyway.

I can get you some Sunfire pricing later this week, I'm off work for a few days. Just to give you an idea what it'll cost you.

Oh I have heard better, but the cost is the thing. It'll cost me SOO Much more to get speakers that better then what I got, it's not worth it. When is good enough, good enough.

I need to talk myself out of the sunfire stuff really....but it's so purdy.
