when i want to run 11psi on my MBC it has to spike at about 14psi befor it can hold at 11 is this normal? can i reduce the spiking in any way?

What mods do you have? I say just lower the boost so you spike 10-11 and hold 8psi.

i have a MBC and want to reduce spike. i have been running high boost for bout 3 months. i have SMIC, CAI, BOV, 2 1/2 inch catless exhast,MBC

It's kind of hard for me to say since I am an owner of a MBC myself but the EBC is better, but at 40 bux compared to 400 it's pretty good. Just keep the wastegate line as short as possible that will help and try and set your boost target a litle lower. 8.5-9PSI is what I had mine set at and it was good.

What kind of MBC are you using? Some that are designed for higher boost have a bleed hole that is a little too big for lower boost applications and will cause a higher spike. I have a friend that has made a bunch of home-made MBCs and the bigger the bleed hole he puts, the higher the spike that will result on lower boost cars.

Take for example the old JoeP MBC vs the new inline version. The old version had a bleed hole that was slightly too large and caused a lot of spiking issues (I experienced this). The new one is designed with a much smaller bleed hole to reduce spike.

But any way you look at it, your playing with fire on a stock motor with no tuning...

Exactly, playing with more boost with out compensating for the fuel that is required is not a good idea.

my car has not been flashed so i am running rich plus my check engine light is on which makes it running even richer.

you guy's are ridiculous i've heard sinc i got my car about blah this and that about our car's going boom. I'm in discreet's boat i've been running 15lbs for 2 years now and my air fuel is perfect on my wideband. So therefore i am not going boom and by the way i've held 20 before for some passes at the track still no boom so why don't you all learn to tune a car before you tell everyone they are gonna blow it up.

Right there is the key word you asshat, exactly what I was gettin at with my comment. A good tune is what will keep the motor alive, this guys isnt tuned therefor I stated we will be seeing a thread soon about anothe blown motor. So try again tard. (first)

Your A/F can be perfect, but your engine could still be knocking and you just don't know it. A/F isn't the only thing to take into account.

LOL, I agree with you neversober, a A/F guage won't show s***. Its a bunch of dancing lights.
