Hesitation..is it suppose to be this bad?

hey whats up im boostin around 9psi..ive heard about the hesitation but is it suppose to be a really bad hold up? like ill gun it in 2nd and itll get to like 4500 or so and just bucks really hard till i let up.. is that how it is for others? will the fcd help me here?

You are probably hitting fuel cut, yes a FCD will help you as that is what it is designed for.

Had the same problem, and it was fuel cut. Hesitation happens when you shift and the car doesn't pick back up.

fuel cut maybe...look if its fuel cut..youll know it...fuel cut is a hard jerk..not a lurching acceleration..i thought i was hitting fuel cut until the other day i really did hit it..trst me if its fuel cut..youll know it

Fuel cut will hit if you're boosting too high. Too high depends on how the car is feeling that day. I've gotten away with boosting 11psi with no fuel cut, and later on in the drive I hit fuel cut at 8psi, so go figure? Solution to the problem: JoeP FCD, which I am still trying to get as we speak. I guess it's better though not to have it for me, it's a safeguard for pushing too much boost when my engine isn't tuned or doesn't have forged internals. Too much boost without tuning = bad idea.

Yeah you can hit it down there the turbo should be fully spooled so your MAF will be reading quite a bit of air volume.

Hesitation at that RPM is still possible... if you don't ease into the throttle, at WOT around 4000 rpms or so, you'll experience that wonderful fuel tuning. Gets better with flash, but never seems to go away.

yup sounds like fuel cut..it is more like a jerk..im boostin around 8-9psi so i dont think its too much..be drivin then itll jerk and ill have to ease off the gas..so u guys sayin i should def get the fcd?

man, fuel cut is a safety thing for the car. I wouldn't mess with it until you absolutely know what you're doing. many people have gone "ooh ooh no more fuel cut lets max out the turbo for fun..... tick tick BOOM". Not that you are inexperienced or anything, just think about it before you do it.

Actually you'll have months to wait and think, cause joep is on backorder for all his stuff.

I haven't ordered yet, but plan to eventually. I just don't have the money right now. If someone will buy my motor mount, I can order a FCD hopefully soon.
