help!!

I just got a 2003.5 mazdaspeed protege in titanium grey metallic.....amazing car. I drove it home from the dealership, got out of the car and locked it. I came back out 20 minutes later and the parking lights were on. When i turn the car on, the lights go off. When i turn the car off, they stay off. But, when I lock the car, the parking lights flash on and stay on. I've tried re-setting the security system, locking the car with both sets of keys and remotes and nothing does any good. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, please let me know. It was such a bummer to have that sweet ride, but not be able to take it anywhere because I couldnt lock it without risking the battery dying on me.

probably the alarm brain needs to be replaced. a couple of people have had problems with lights staying on with the alarm armed.

I truly feel your pain, I bought my 2003.5 Titanium MSP yesterday and due to a battery alternator - (see thread "Need Help ASAP!!!) issue I couldn't even bring it home. I hope you and I both get our problems rectified very soon, I know how disappointed you must be.

that sucks. my alarm's been acting up on me too. it's fine now but every now and then, the parking lights refuse to shut off. usually locking and unlocking it a couple times does the trick. also, try locking the car twice....works for me at least.

Icourtnage: Look here - It's a known problem with alarm module. The only fix seems to have the dealer replace it.

Yup yup. I'm on my fourth unit now (switched out three times). Next month I'll hopefully have an aftermarket alarm, though.
