Depends. If you plan on going intake, i'd get the turbo inlet first then an intake. As it's easier to install an intake, so get the TIP out of the way first! Either way you'll be Satisfied

Corksport sells their Turbo inlet pipe for $99
Depending on the Bov and Intake. You're probably looking too spend about $200 each, unless your buying used parts

Get the Turbo Inlet Pipe. You'll be more than satisfied and you'll love the turbo spool sound it makes (drinks)

so i should get the inlet pipe, then the intake ?

Yes. Or you will be doing things backwards. The inlet is further back and the intake is closer to you. I got the MS CAI first then my TIP. I should of got the TIP first so the install is easier. I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to install the parts, but time is money!

I just got a MS CIA as well, but never even know what a TIP was until you guys mentioned it lol. I did a little reading about them, seems like a must with a new intake system. What brand did you buy? I was looking to see if mazda made one, but I couldn't find one. I may buy a cobb, what one did ya'll buy? and does brand really matter with this thing?

TIP replacement has not been shown to actually make more power on this car. At best, it might allow boost to spool up a bit quicker. Regardless of its wierd, flattenen shape, the stock TIP actually flows better than the flow-through capabilities of the stock K04 turbo. And there are a lot of guys breaking vacuum hose nipples on their TIP's when messing with them.

Until someone can show me with dyno pulls or similar objective data that TIP replacement actually makes power, I'm not going to waste my money on one. My mods are below.

Oh, and BOV's, true BOV's that vent to air, are not good for a MAF sensor controlled engine. Farting already metered air to atmosphere deprives the engine of air it has already metered and is expecting the be precisely matched to the fuel via the intake valves, fuel being separately and directly shot through the injectors based on that air measurement.

BPV's which recirculate the metered air, keeping it inside the intake tract post MAF sensor are what this engine needs. The stock one is very elegantly designed, performs flawlessly, and rarely leaks. If and only if you can prove that it actually is leaking, replacing it will not make more power.

Guys, put your money where it will actually make some power and forget about the bling and hype. The intake is extremely restrictive. Replace the stock air box with either an SRI or a CAI of your choice. That's where you'll see a performance gain and it will be substantial, in the range of 15-20 whp.

Oh, and OP: While I was glad to provide some hopefully useful information, please consider using the search function. This is very basic information that has been the subject of dozens and dozens of already posted and discussed threads here. A little research could have saved us yet another thread.

You won't see any more power, but you will feel a quicker response. When I went from my '09 with the TIP/Intake on it to my '12 I just put the intake on it because I didn't have time to mess with the TIP. It didn't have the same "go" effect when lightly hitting the throttle at cruising RPMs. After putting the TIP back on, I noticed the response was back and makes it much more enjoyable.

It's hard to explain, but say you're driving along at 2.5k rpm and just lightly hit the gas to go... without the TIP the turbo doesn't instantly spool like when it's on. Maybe it's just me imagining it, but I think I can really feel a difference. It's subtle and you will only notice it in certain situations, but it's enough to make me miss it when it's gone. I hope that makes sense...

Honestly brand doesn't matter, just depends on the way the diameters/thickness piping is made. I got the Corksport TIP mated to the MS CAI. They also have the COBB and couple other brand TIP's. But i'm satisfied with the CS!

IDK where you are getting you're sources from and if you can read. No one ever stated the TIP puts down more power than an intake,bov,etc...! I basically stated

1.) It's easier to get the TIP out of the way first, "since it's behind the motor towards the back" while the intake is closer more up front easier installation.
2.) It makes for better/quicker spool throttle response. Responds better than the stock Plastic TIP(jerkit)

^^Yes this X2

i know they have diff colors, but im refering to the option of having WITH valve cover fitting and WithOUT the fitting

again lol, what one do you buy with a CIA?

edit: screw it, im just gonna buy the cobb.

yeah mistype lol

edit: i just went ahead and bought the cobb, it seemd like a better product. And I know cobb is highly rated for this products. Extra 65 bucks is nothing really, get what you pay for. It looked like a different design

Iamlegend: i know guys will have mixed feelings about this, but unless you suspect you are having an issue with your stock bpv, don't even bother replacing it. myself and alot of others on here have used aftermarket bypass valves only to go back to the stock one. sure the clanging swords sound of the forge bpv is sexy, but in daily driving the stock piece is alot smoother. i was ready to trade in my car before i reverted back to the stock one, and fell in love with the car all over again.
