Had a similar problem with a completely different type of car. it was an old (1990) thunderbird supercoupe. It was impossible to duplicate for the guys at the shop.
It would just die at idle, most of the time it would crank right back up, and run as if nothing ever happened.
Once when it didn't start right back up, I went and got a tow truck. The tow driver got in, and started it up when he got there about 45 minutes later. He then looked at me as if I had no sense.
Finally replaced crank and cam sensors and - PRESTO - no more problem.
Don't do motor work any more, so I'm not sure if your car even has these gizmos, but I thought I'd share the idea with you.
