Header installed

i too have the OBX header and a R&B catback -- i feel its just a tad louder than i wanted but so far have gotten use to it -- it has less low end and more high end just as peeps have stated -- it seems to be the loudest at around 3800 rpms ---
and just a heads up about dynamating -- it may help -- my whole car is done --- i did it to get rid of the rattle from the stereo and to help lower road noise and it helped really well for the stereo and did soso for road noise -- but i would do it again ---- i like it -- just my .02

my catback and muffler are much louder than the Rb catback..also with my cam gear timing it changes the headers effect...definately nice though, found a good resonator too.. my midpipe might just be mostly a resonator...2.25"

I think hes talkin about the whole package, header/mid-pipe/hi-flo cat.......that price sounds right, depending on what header he got.
its essential speed, 4-2-1 header, header is ceramic coated. a mid pipe and a high flow cat. all 2.5", and my cat back is also 2.5". the entire piping will be 2.5" from the engine all the way through. the price is alot at one time to spend, yes. but for what im getting, i think the price is fine. **** a turbo. :)

When I installed my FS 4-2-1 header on my 2001 MP I felt a substancial amount of power gain and torque. Take in mind that I have no resonator and no cats. I will be installing a resonator though cuz it is to loud for my taste and probably a High Flow Cat. Last night while driving back from out of town I was falling alseep on the wheel. I then let my brother drive the other half. I asked him how he felt my car compared to his stock P5 and he said he was amazed by how unrestricted, freeflow it felt. He also liked the fact that it reved a lot quicker than before and the power he felt, with no stress. I love my car's power now but am afraid to put in a cat cuz I may loose some torque and power. I have also modified my intake to and SRI and boxed it in away from the heat. I will be installing a Naca Duct on the hood to supply air to it but for now I modified my front mount air filter into my Cold Air Box to give it air. Air is a lot cooler now in the box and the filter and SRI intake tube was cool to the touch.

Now its time for Custom Cams and a lighter Flywheel - (to make it rev a lot quicker). I have the ACT Clutch but still saving for LSD to put both in.

U actually might lose a bit of torque with the 2.5" piping....But you'll have killer power on the freeway doing higher speeds. A friend of mine went from 2.25" all the way through, to 2.5", and he said he lost torque throughout the first couple of gears.....but he did it for future turbo purposes. Its all good though, better than stock s*** (flash)

20evo - if you get a high flow cat you wont notice any difference. 1whp loss in power at the most

but yes, CUSTOM CAMS!!!!!!

LOL...yeah dyno will be soon. now i havent had a chance to check but does anyone have suggestions regarding the midpipe, particularly twilight or spicymchaggis. Are there clearance issues with a straight pipe from header to 2nd cat? Could i fit a resonator in there diameter wise? about how long is it? i found a dynapack resonator in many lengths from jeg's for $16.99. if it will fit i will get that. After driving it more i am seeing how the power delivery has changed dramatically...smoother and more consistent. i love how the noise turns heads too :D....but i got to put the exhaust cam in....otherwise any dyno i get is not going to show great peak numbers. But i will try to do it so i can show the exhaust cam gains specifically. Need to get to the track too. I think i could post mid/high 15's easily, especially after the midpipe.

shat, i meant 2.25" piping, not 2.5". i dunno why i kept typing 2.5", its two and a quarter piping all the way through, woooooo!

Make sure you find a place with a Dynojet. That way we can compare #s. With Twilights dyno numbers, it was a totally different kind of dyno, so we really can't compare.....

with my setup, there is a slight S after the cat to joint up to the rest of the exhaust system. it is not straight at all.

and there probably isnt enough room between the subframe and the car for a resonator either

well if this header bolts to stock location maybe talk to wagner about his midpipe with a res instead of the cat it normally comes with. I know a few people getting the DP w/ cat are getting the midpipe w/out one so it should be easy to do. dont know how much though, probably be easier at a local shop.

I am gonna take a look....but i may have to put the resonator after the cat...although i would like to just replace the cat with a resonator and thats it. I just need to find a good exhaust shop cause the one i used to go to has gotten bad.
:(
