Hangover cure?

A hangover is caused mostly by the dehydration and a by-product of alcohol metabolism called acetaldehyde. In addition, several vitamins get depleted, mostly B-vitamins and potassium, and your blood sugar drops.

There is no "magic cure", however, it is possible to help.

Cysteine is an amino acid that counteracts the effects of acetaldehyde. It's available at most supermarkets, and if not there, at GNC or some place like that.

Bananas are good for potassium.

1 pill of B-vitamin complex.

The small cans of V-8 have plenty of other good stuff that will help.

Of course this can only be taken after you are able to keep things down.

The best thing to do is to keep yourself hydrated while you are drinking. If possible, drink 1 glass of water in between every alcoholic drink. Try to gulp down a BIG glass of water before you go to bed. This will lessen the severity or even prevent a hangover from happening in the first place.

Yeah....another beer (or drink) *actually* does work somewhat. Again, only if you are able to keep things down.

A hangover is basically a form of alcohol withdrawal, so more alcohol can actually help.

It's a dangerous road to take though. Drinking more alcohol to make the pain go away is one step down the road to alcoholism. Tread lightly....

Reagen drinks till he passes out. Thats why u stay up as long as u can and down a Phat Greasy Burger before u go to bed! Works everytime.....never have horrible hangovers.

just like jersey said... I have 8oz of water between every drink if possible, maybe every other drink. Then, when the night is over, as much water as possible, wait, break the seal, then more water... then finally bed. Works every time.
