A hangover is caused mostly by the dehydration and a by-product of alcohol metabolism called acetaldehyde. In addition, several vitamins get depleted, mostly B-vitamins and potassium, and your blood sugar drops.
There is no "magic cure", however, it is possible to help.
Cysteine is an amino acid that counteracts the effects of acetaldehyde. It's available at most supermarkets, and if not there, at GNC or some place like that.
Bananas are good for potassium.
1 pill of B-vitamin complex.
The small cans of V-8 have plenty of other good stuff that will help.
Of course this can only be taken after you are able to keep things down.
The best thing to do is to keep yourself hydrated while you are drinking. If possible, drink 1 glass of water in between every alcoholic drink. Try to gulp down a BIG glass of water before you go to bed. This will lessen the severity or even prevent a hangover from happening in the first place.
