Well, didn't think to take pics, but built a guitar this weekend, or rebuilt. Had an Epiphone Les Paul sitting at my house that I got with some cash in a trade for my drumset. Epiphone is okay but nothing special so it sat there for 2 years. I got up some motivation this weekend and got working. Removed all hardware, all electronics, and began on the body. I sanded the whole body down with steel wool to break through the finish. It was gloss white and I wanted matte white. After sanding the body, neck, and headstock, I taped of the guitar leaving the sides of the body and the front of the headstock. I painted the side of the guitar and the top of the headstock matte black. I sanded all plastic hardware like the electronics cover and the trusrod cover so the gloss black plastic faded to a matte finish. I replaced all the electronics putting in a new jack, a new toggle switch, and using the Quadrail pickups that came out of my Kramer Barretta and the volume and tone pots with coil tapping. I flipped the metal plate the holds the neck on over so there are no names or numbers. I removed some hardware such as the toggle plate that labeled rhythm and tone, and then painted over all logos on the headstock. All that is left to do is order a black saddle, a black bridge, and black Grover locking tuners.
