Guitarists?

My friend at work has a buddy in desperate need of cash so I bought his Ampeg SVT-410HEN for $250. Cranked it up last night and has that good Ampeg rock tone. It's 8ohms so I'll use it with my Epifani 3x10 for the rare rock gig I get.

I never pictured you as a LP guy, Phen.

What are some guitars you guys were surprised by how well they sounded or played?

Oh yeah man. When I first started, all I wanted was a LP. The chameleon cheap LP downstairs was my first electric. I really wanna hot rod that a little more than I already have. It played really nice for a while.

So I just got the box set that this video came from. It's an old song of his that I'm really shocked he's still doing live. It was off of one of his early albums that was the first to really grab my attention. It's not a really difficult song (aside from the ridiculous stretches he does) but a good example of the huge sound you can make with open tunings.

Some of my guitars...Sorry guys, I found some old photos

Kramer Barretta custom. I chnaged everything on it, hardware, electronics, paint job, etc.

PRS Tremonti SE ( I used 2" pin stripe tape to add custom details to guitars. This has long since changed)

You're gonna make me go take nice pics of mine now... Haha.

Another picture of me around 16 years-old. Playing the blues-a-palooza and Big Ron Hunter is pictured with us

Phen, those "nice pics" are the guitar propped up in the black satin case with a towel laid down on the floor

It works tho right? I just used my Lovesac to rest them on. Oh... and I shot yours too Evan.

Ok. Here's the latest edition to my family. Picked this up a few weeks ago to celebrate a local music shop agreeing to carry my amps!

Phen, want to take some pics of mine too? ;)

I love playing that Dean with the flatwounds. Such a smooth guitar.

edit- nice Gretsch! I've always loved the look and sound of those. It's always weird seeing lefty's though. haha. And congrats on the new dealer!

Don't forget the Warwick hiding in the corner! Haha! Thanks man!

Oh snap! Totally forgot, even tho it's new.

My #1 baby. Fender Jazz Marcus Miller signature. Modded with Nordstrand pups, Aguilar preamp and pickgaurd. This bass blows away Sadowsky's alllll day long.

Squier Jaguar bass. Cheap Guitar Center impulse buy. Haha

Squier Jazz fretless. I love Jaco.

1971 Univox Professional Bass. (P-bass copy, obviously). Strung up with flatwounds and sounds like James Jamersons old P-bass on all the Motown recordings.

Free bass from MonkeyAss (thejeans). I need to refinish and rebuild it. And ironically I'm not a fan of rush at all. lulz

ps- Phen, you can delete your post of my pics so there aren't doubles.

I want to play SO badly since I watched the Led Zeppelin movie "Celebration" last night with some friends. Man, Jimmy Page can still shred!
