Trailblazer SS AWD ....Still a Mazda Junkie Though.
Just curious how this turbo would do on an FS motor....Obvious things would be needed such as management and Forged goodies....
Whats your thoughts on this?

it will be fine. i have the gt3037, same as the 3076, or gt30R. 3071 is a good turbo, go for it

spools late but pulls stupid hard.

How late are we talking here...Like .3 seconds late..or like....Hello .....McFly ....Late

I want to get Good power..but I am not wanting to sacrifice the fun factor that comes with Small Fast turbo spool.

Wow..Thats crazy late!
That would be great for a High speed track car pullling a lot of RPM's....But not for my street ride.
I went the tried and true GT28RS anyway a while ago.

It'll be into the 4000s when you hit full boost (well, at least for our track, running 27psi)

Thats actually not that bad, considering your probably hitting 15-20psi somewhere between 3500 to 4000 RPMS, right? Are you running a .63 hotside or .82 (or .86 if T2 flanged)?

I believe the .63 at this time, although we're thinking of moving to something a touch larger. The .63 will flow well upto 475-500hp, and yes, will spool 15psi about 3800RPM IIRC.

you made me laugh hard when i saw what you wrote. that was hilarious. lol.

4k is not bad. i mean when your shifting at redline, its gonna drop you to about 4k. thats where your power band is so thats a good deal. not to mention that is only full boost, under 4 k will still be powerful, just not a full boost. but why do you need full boost under 4k with a turbo like that, espically on the streets, lol.

Fun factor goes down do too spool up but if you go built why go with something small enough to make you loose traction as well. I LOVE my 28RS and can't wait to see what it can do on another 10lbs. :)

Im considering the GT3071 once/if I do the MSP build. Or maybe the GT2871, but im leaning more towards the GT3071, YAY for top end!!!.

I have been wanting to buy the 30r for along time now. other things keep popping up though and I just can get it. like now I getting another set of rims for the track. I was even thinking as far as 35 but I just dont think it would ever spool

30/40r Go big or go home.

I had no issues. It is tight in there though. Not a whole lot of room to work with.

Nice.

Did you have any problems with making yours fit? Mine is basically a hair from having the compressor housing hitting the clutch bleeder screw :p
