GT28RS help

how slow does it build full boost?

check the wastegate, since it has to be modded theres a chance the wg flap isnt seated closed when the cars off so its leaking boost.

the other thing i noticed since i changed my turbo is that my hks ssqv i like 3 times softer than when i had the stock turbo in. what would that mean? i tried having it vent to atmoshpere more by adjusting the screw and it still is quiter and car stalls lol. even with the dual setup. but gonna tighten tonite cuz to much air goes out.

I'm also running a dual-setup right now and the best way not to stall is run separate vac lines for the bov and bpv to the brake booster line. After I did this I added 2 extra washers to tighten the bov (turbo Xs rfl) because it was still stalling. Now the car runs smooth and never stalls.
It sounds to me like there is something not working right with your turbo.

i just remember never put any thread locker on the studs that go into the turbo since i removed them to clock the turbo. and to make sure on the compressor side, the side the intake goes on, do they normally drill through the housing? i remember being able to see right into the housing when i was clocking the turbo.

builds just as quick if not faster than the stocker

ur not suppsoed to fully remove any of the backing plate nuts, just loosen them. ur turbo should have came with a little paper with instructions.

see that was the funny thing too i didn't wanna take them all the way out but it didn't wanna clock to where i needed it until like 4 of them were all the way out.
also i have my waste gate like rich's 505zoom. didn't have to bend the wg at all just use the stock mount with the stock wg. lined up perfect.

yea alls the lil bolts do is hold those plates on to apply presure. so u ust need to loosen them. technically u shouldnt need locktite at the moment but make sure its all the way on too, it might be crooked and its leaking? or u have a leak elsewher cause if the turbo is building boost really fast then the turbo and wg prolly isnt leaking. unless its not holding boost.

according to my boost gauge it constant on the 12 psi spike and sitting on 10 so i can't really tell if im leaking boost. on the other hand when just idling it sits on -20 and if im using a gear to hold me back going down hill it sits on -23ish -24ish

Ummm, You should be getting excessive wheelspin in 1st 2nd and a bit of 3rd...

That is definately a problem..

just to make sure we are on the same page. excessive wheel spin when i pop the clutch or just in first gear rolling floor it and then excessive spin?

if ur rolling youd have to have enough tq to break it loose and at 10 psi i dont see that happening unless u had bad tires. id assume its whenu launch it drag racing (like popping the clutch)

I step on it in 2nd,and they come loose.

k its official i am ****** pissed my beat down stocker pulled a 14.9 with rich's tune 505zoom and i advanced the timing even more, tonite same thing 12 psi with 13ish 14ish spike on the disco with rich's tune and i advanced the timing to the same i had it the last drag races and i still got a 14.9. seriously is my fricken turbo defective or do i need to put locktite on the studs i used to clock the turbo. oh yah no blown motor yet lucky me. i also advanced it even more to get a cel that said misfire on cylinder 1 yay me. someone plz help me the hell out seriously lost. only diff between this race and last one was put my stock racing hart rims back on with firestone wide ovals, last race i had adr's 17's with falken azenis rt615 and that combo was like 2-3 pounds heavier on each wheel.

bent.JPG

also this part in the pic for my gt28rs that part of the wall is really thin and the arrow shows where it is kinda bent in like it got smashed in by something. could that be a significant prob?
i'll post of pic of mine tomorrow when i get home

Second gear with good tires at 3050 RPM rolling constant speed...

Mash the gas and within 0.25 seconds, you should have no traction/wheel spin..

well i messed up i am at 10 psi with a 13 psi spike got to stare at the boost better while driving back home has just as much of a pull as 12 psi on the stocker but still not breaking loose even stompin it in 1st. only if i pop the clutch then spin through till 3rd. still kinda wierd though, i put my greddy type s bov back on and its just like the hks its a lot softer i had to open it up a whole lot more than my previous setting to actually hear it whistle.

I fear that there is a major problem then..

Did you stuff a rag in one of the pipes to make sure nothing got in during the install? (Then forgot about it)
