GT28RS help

It fits, looks clean, and looks like it will open the wastegate when appropriate. I say good job if it works.

I'm glad I didn't have to do this on the car!

BTW,anyone who does this needs to also know they have to bend coolent lines to get it to fit,the factory ones work, just need a soft mallet, and a bench vice to "persuede" them into the right places

I'm assuming you meant the two big coolant lines that run behind the wastegate:) I had it all done and realized it hit the bottom (shorter) one. I am flipping that line over the top of the other one and making a bracket to attach it. Hopefully fits like butter this time. This is a bit difficult to do with the engine still in the bay.

yeah, the larbe coolant lines were a b****,the one the the turbo return is on is the real b****,just flip it over,do a little prying from behind it inbetween it and the block.

your going to have to trim a little off of the little silicone return line.

then you are going to have to figure your own way to get the coolant return to fit.I cut mine, and added in a piece of fuel hose.

Here is some pics of the RS installation. Not easy, but well worth it. Man, does the car pull harder with this turbo. Much thanks to Wicked for the awesome idea with the wastegate.

Edit: I installed thos spal fans too. Wow, those things are loud and push some air! Scared me when they turned on.

good to see you got that thing in there with out any problems.

Oh, be not mistaken, there were some problems:) The bottom metal coolant line is now on the top, probably flows a little less efficiently, and is beaten like a red-headed step child. Otherwise, it was relatively smooth (except for stripping the threads where the EGR connect to the mani trying to get it off :( )

mine were b**** too,I just cut the return line(back of the turbo)and routed it with soft fuel hose

couldnt u make new lines, or perhaps use ss ones? just a thought.

That is possible, but would have taken more time then I wanted my car to be down. When I do the engine rebuild, that is definately something I will consider.

so,after having to give 6 different people this link,I think it's time to make it a sticky or something.no?
BTW the "how-to" is on page 2

not sure if I mentioned it before, but the fan thats shared with the SMIC does not fit with this turbo.
