Well it looks like my bad luck streak wasn't over. Some of you may remember my last thread, posted around a month ago...

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123650641

...well as if that wasn't enough, I guess somebody liked my stereo equipment more than I did. They must have been real quick too because my alarm had gone off, but didn't do much good since nobody heard it. Or maybe somebody did and just didn't care, who knows.

Anyways, they snatched my 7" monitor, Premier CD player, MTX amp, two 12" subwoofers, and a case of CDs. They also managed to rip my locked glove box completely out of the car and left it sitting in the yard.

I hate people.

**** that sucks..same thing happened to my friend not to long ago..god people a so ******* rediculous sometimes

It is one thing to take something. it is another to trash it as well. People can't stop at just being dicks they have to be something more. Sorry for your pain man.

The absolute worst part about this is that while the stereo stuff can be replaced or easy to name off to the insurance company, its almost impossible to recoupe CD's you have stolen. My buddy had a book stolen over 2 years ago and he still goes looking for CD's he doesnt have anymore

That sucks man. Sorry people suck. I wrecked my car today too...it must be a bad luck day in Ohio today...Ohio P5's are getting the shaft.

Sorry to hear that...it's not even snowing yet either?!? Just think how screwed we are when that starts dropping! haha

Thanks everybody for your thoughts. Just a quick update...
  • The amp, subwoofers, and the box aren't covered by Progressive Insurance because they weren't attached to the vehicle. Not sure if this is true for all insurance companies, but if you're using Progressive make sure your s*** is bolted to the car somehow or they won't give you a dime. :bs:
  • It turns out my car is the eighth car in our apartment complex to be broken into in the past week. Apparently while I was gone for Thanksgiving there was an outburst of theft.
  • One gentlemen did happen to hear my alarm and ran outside. He saw a small stock Honda speeding off with their lights off. Turns out, his daily driver Civic and his brand new 2006 STi were both broke into over the weekend. My roommates Evo8 was also broken into that same night but the only thing stolen from his car was a fried amp.
So right now there is kind of a community outcry to the leasing office to bring back the patrolling security they use to have.

While I'm waiting for the estimate on my car, I'm rocking out an '07 PT Cruiser rental. Yeah it's ugly on the outside but damn it beautiful on the inside and has so much leg room. Even has that new car smell! I'll keep everyone posted.

Sorry to hear about it! Do you have renters insurance? If you do, they may be able to cover the stuff that Progressive wouldn't.

sucks man....

wish I knew you better cause I give you a hug... AWW hell next time i'm in Ohio -- Hugs... big ones - on me buddy

You are too kind....no seriously, that's way too kind, don't come near me lol j/k

I do appreciate the offer! :)

So I've had the spacious PT Cruiser for about 9 hours, added about 100 miles, and even with the new car smell I simply can't wait to get my P5 back lol

Wow...man. I know the feeling :(. I f#ckin HATE thieves with a passion!! Which is why I've been on patrol hoping to beat the sh!t out of one.

Update #2...

So Progressive decided to cover the amp because it was mounted to the back of the backseat. There was a bit of confusion as to where the amp was located when it was stolen and what "attached to the vehicle" actually meant. Maybe I was having a blond moment, but it never really occurred to me that the amp was technically attached to my car by the four screws holding it to the backseat.

So all said and done, repair amount comes to around $1700. And after paying the deductible, I'll receive a check for around $650 to cover the stolen audio equipment.

This also means driving the PT Cruiser for another two weeks....boooooo

that sucks man....just went through that...my g/f car was broken into about 3 weeks ago. its amazing how much scum there is in this world!

Thats great they already came out and looked at the damaged and gave you an estimate. I am pissed that my insurance still has not called me or sent out an adjuster.

Wow that deductable kicked your ass.. you must have a 1k on your insurance..

I've been worried about my s*** getting ripped into after I moved next to this street filled with 4 plexes.. but most are military and has respect for each other s***. I've even left a back window down all night with my amp in arms distance.. still there in the morning :) God must be looking out for me, good luck dude.

I understand your feelings... the same thing happened to me last night (bang) ... just broken the rear door small window... of course he didn't damaged my car like yours, just took my headunit out, and all valuable stuff inside... around 4am...

first time... on February, happens the same thing... in that opportunity, my pioneer premier headunit was stolen... some day I want people like that die and pay for everything they did in this life (gun)

Just curious, who is your insurance? I actually had to drive my car to the Progressive claims office and they send it out for the repairs.

As far as the accident that I was involved in last month, the lady at fault hasn't been returning any phone calls to her own insurance company. My insurance and I have talked about taking them to small claims court. Since her insurance company is some small firm in Arizona, I doubt they'll want to come to Ohio to represent a woman that won't even talk to her own insurance company.

My deductible is $250 and they cover up to $1000 on aftermarket and appearance accessories. So the stereo + amp + monitor + damaged vinyl on the interior - deductible = roughly $650. Or at least that's what was said over the phone. I haven't seen the exact figures for any of that stuff tho.
