Well the good news:
Ok so I go see the solicitor this morning and we had a little talk, I got him to dismiss me on a $180 fine and defensive driving school, plus he is putting it down as a no record. He backed my court date back to October 13th, so I have til then to produce a certificate of driver school and a measely 180 bucks, not that $180 isnt expensive, but its a lot cheaper than what would have happened if I went to court with the 36 mph over ticket. The solicitor, Milton, (yeah we are on a first name basis, we're like this [fingers crossed]) he said the judge was real bad on tickets over 30 mph, then he and another lady went into stories about how they drive fast too and I am just the unlucky one that got caught. it was funny when he was looking at my driver record, he's like "ok...speeding.....improper lane change...... speeding ......DUI..... well this isn't too bad and you said you just weren't paying attention and that is a hard road to be going 71 mph on, maybe his (the officer) equipment wasn't correct, but he does use laser, so we'll make a compromise." Just for the record for those reading this, I haven't gotten a ticket in awhile, since 2003, and the DUI (early 2002) wasn't that bad, I mean it really sucked, but I wasn't drunk. I had 3 beers and then decide to drive like an idiot so i got pulled over and thought that they wouldn't really register on the breathalizer but they did, I passed all the sobriety tests though. That was the most expensive 3 beers I have ever had, so don't drink then drive! back to Milton, he was awsome and I am glad I got to get my ticket reduced that much. So if you get caught in Roswell, make sure you pay Milton a visit and just be favorably (in your favor) honest with him and he'll cut you a good fair deal.
