Got 30+ MPG

I couldn't believe it when i looked at my trip odo that it said this even when romping on the gas.

At first I wasn't sure if i didn't reset the trip odo when i filled up last, but i don't fill up when the tank is not empty. Anyone else get to this MPG/mileage at 1 tank of gas? As I recall my odo has always been in the 350-75 miles.

Yup, best I had was 35 MPG. Typically get 29-33. Worst I had was 25, and that was towing a boat at 70

Ive gotten over 400 to a tank before, but it was interstate only @70mph and I ran the thing dry lol. My last tank however was 350 miles on 12.5 gal which came out to roughly 28mpg, which isnt bad I guess, because I usually only get around 300 to a tank if I drive normal.

I generally get 270-300 per tank depending how how long and many trips i take at 80 or above.

Just calculated tonight 371.1 and it took 13.045 gal to fill up. So that comes up to 28mpg. Most I ever got was 430+. But that was all highway. This is all with a MSP.

I've gotten to almost 500 (Could have if I had ran the tank dry) with ALL interstate driving. I was calculating ~36 mpg on those trips.

Does the MSP have a bigger gas tank then the MP5?

crappy i barely get 200 miles on half a tank of gas, and last time i checked my gas mileage is in the mid 20's, must be the way I drive
but its not really a big deal for me because i still use my parents gas card and they keep letting me use it as long as i do little errands for them
yeah and does the ethanol affect it maybe?

Ethanol has been shown to decrease gas mileage sometimes, haven't seen a conclusive test though. My Dad's friend said his SUV got a noticeable decrease in mileage with ethanol.

Also, close to 200 miles on a half a tank of gas is pretty damn good for city driving, even highway (assuming 14.5 gallon capacity).


MSP gas tank is 14.5 gallons, not sure on other Proteges.

The 1.8 and 2.0 has 14.5 gallons (55L)

ya i only get about 237 before the gas light comes on, but i romp on my engine ALOT and i only travel to work and back which is abut 2 miles from my house

i got 605.5km (372miles) on my protege, ran bone dry, taking in that i let my car warm up everymorning because of the winter.
