2024 CX-30 Getting very low fuel mileage

I never put any faith in those on-board fuel economy readouts. I always view them as "interesting to know" tidbits. Probably only good for "miles to empty" information.

If you are at all interested in actual fuel mileage, the hand calculation using tank fill up gallons and trip miles will be the most accurate.

I agree. the only read-out I use is the real-time fuel economy. I literally never drive without it. It's tremendously helpful for my persistent hypermiling techniques.

I've been tracking my fuel consumption since I got my 2023 CX30 Select back in June.

I'm averaging about 27 mpg. I load gas every other day. I drive 73 miles (one way to work). It's a 50/50 highway/city drive.

I don't know what this select sport business is. Is it Turbo or NA?

I have a 2023 GT NA and I always get 7.5-7.9 l/100km. So my worst worst worst gas mileage would be 29mpg. That's with me driving a mix of hwy and city. Top hwy speeds of 120-130kms/hr.

Even my wife who drives short trips in the city (which should be the worst gas mileage you can get) never gets above 8.0 l/100km.

IMHO you have a heavy foot or are using crap gas.

I picked up my new cx-30 turbo a few days ago, it's a small sample size as I only have 50 Miles on it.

With conservative driving, city/highway about 60/40, I've burnt through over 1/3 tank of gas, and the average is 14.9 MPG; is this something to report to the dealer??? My 2018 CX-5 could get 40 mpg on cruise control on the highway and around 32 MPG combinded,

Is this a known issue before the engine breaks in?? I can't drive a car that only does 15 MPG, INSANE,
I don't pay attention to the doodad on the dash when it comes to averages. Come to think of it, I don't really pay attention to the speedometer....
