Going to Solo II Nationals....

So far, I'm up against a Nissan Spec V (no problem (naughty) ), 2 BMW 330's, and 3 Integra Type R's.

There isn't a single MSP signed up. My mechanic who races locally was surprised. I told him nobody considers it a competitive car nationally. If I keep my head on and drive like I can, I may earn it some respect. I do have some split personality that shows up on occasion that can't drive. (braindead

Wish me luck!

luck hell- kick their asses!- you have some tough competition- both from the rwd and the great handling type r's.... but keep us informed for sure!

Shoot, if me and my car were competitive, I'd be attending.

However, good luck at the event! I assume you'll be running the MSP :D. Be sure to take lots of pictures and inform us as to the results.

good luck...i'll be in Topeka with my MSP but not racing just crewing.

Ya see, here's the problem....

Mark Daddio in the Grassroots Magazine SRT-4. ;)

Cindy,

Are you doing open class or ladies? I know there's this femenin cooky thing where the fast ladies don't run the ladies class... but you could be a serious contender if you went ladies class. In the Ladie's class your real competition would be Annie. You could bring home a trophy for the MSP for sure!

Ladies calss... yeah.. missed that.. was thinking open. I look at screen names without adding gender. (lol2)

Go get 'em!!! :D

Good luck Cindy! Remember, all of those competitors are beatable. My MSP beat Annie Bauer's ITR by 0.450 second the first day at the Bremerton Tour. She was on new Hoosiers, I was on old Victoracers and 3 year old Ecstas. So the car has the potential. Just relax, have fun, and try to put down 2 days of fast runs. No matter where you end up, enjoy the experience as you go along. It's your first year, think of it as a training experience!

Go get 'em, Grrrlll!

Annie Bauer is no slouch either.

Yep. I doubt any of them are slouches. I'll be there for fun. I've got the potential, if I can ever learn to apply it all in three runs. This trip will be mostly experience. But, if by some freak of nature, I do everything right, I'll be a serious threat. Right now, I peak at run 4, so I have a slight problem.

Cindy, peaking at run 4 isn't a problem. Everyone goes faster as they get more runs. Just keep repeating this mantra: Aggressive, Smooth, Edge of Adhesion. Take 3 deep breaths and Go. And Push the Car on the First Run. Even if you spin it or understeer way into a corner, then you'll know you can dial it back a little bit there. Most common mistake is not enough aggression on the first run. Go for it! We're all rooting for you!

Indeed the ladies can drive. Watch for Katie Elder to maybe take STS-L in Kevin M's black Civic HB, as she has taken the open class often, and even beat Kevin twice this year.
