Hey Guys,

It's my first post and it's great to be with a Mazda community, I'm a newb so hopefully you guys can help out.

History
My car had gas leak issues, and I took it to a mechanic and they said it's coming from the tank. I went to a junkyard found a nice replacement and I took it to a mechanic and they replaced the tank and changed the 1.Unit Cover, and the Rubber that covers the top.

The next day I drove it to work and it shut off with the gas sputtering away I found out that the mechanic did not push the valves that push gas in correctly. I pushed it in and problem solved.

Then it was ok for about a month, but it still smelled like a gas leak, I went and opened the back seat covers to find out that it still was leaking but not the valves this time. I kept driving thinking of what it could be.

A check engine light came on afterwards and after a while it started blinking and the engine was stuttering like if it was'nt getting enough fuel.

I went to a mechanic and he told me it was the top piece (fuel filter), and that it had a crack

Issue
I bought a new fuel filter and when it came I replaced it carefully, but now that I try to start the car it just cranks and it won't start.

I'm starting to think the Fuel Filter that came is DOA, and the connections are not making contact.

Pulled off the manual, and the dots with green are new parts and dots with red are old parts

Thanks again guys and hopefully you guys can figure this one out quickly I probably missed a few steps you guys would've taken.

Found out what it was guys, I paid somebody 60 bucks to check it out and it was the fuel pump. It wasn't pushing out as much gas.

Found out what it was, The rubber piece that connects to the fuel pump to the fuel filter was'nt on, I was thinking and finally found out it was that after inspecting it the 3rd time.

If you wanna see the piece missing in action take a look at the picture with the two fuel filters sitting side by side and the one on the right, theres a small rubber piece on the top right.

Im glad you guys figured out were the leak was coming from. Yeah that's crazy to think that just tone O ring can throw the o ring off and it start's leaking! that's whoa!
