FSDE motor import motor

Im looking to get a used FSDE from Japan. My question is if the motor comes from japan is there specific models and years that the motor hast to come from? I check all search and know which FSDE from the US will work but not sure about the import ones.

Why do you want one from Japan? its not any different really. The FSZE is but an FSDE is identical(i'm pretty sure, but may be wrong). There is one for sale in the p5 for sale section for like $300 bucks and he is in CA as well.

The FSZE is OBDI, has 10.4:1 compression, different intake cam, different intake manifold and different crank pulley.

No such thing as a JDM FSDE. The FS engine used in the Japanese Domestic Market is the FSZE. The FSDE was only in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Find me a JDM car with a FSDE, once you have completed your search you will have your proof.

Well from what i have read, its all protege/323 stuff there, but apparently the JDM 626 had the FS-DE

I guess there is not really anything concrete other than seeing Engine importers saying JDM 626 and forums with people saying there is a 626 FSDE

The reason the importers say "FSDE" is for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). If you are searching for a FSDE replacement engine and the importer does not say "FSDE" on their web page you would not find them and they would potentially miss a sale. If the engine is really JDM it is a FSZE. Email one of the importers who is advertising a JDM FSDE and ask.

The MSP is done almost entirely in Japan. Right up until they get into port. I believe the Turbos are done stateside, as well as the stereo and spoilers. So technically.....

LOL, I was thinking that but just wondering if there were ever FSDE ever offered in JDM cars.....ever. But I can find any that is concrete. Poor OP will think we are crazy once he gets back on

Ok I called the guy at the shop and he said that his fsde are jdm. I know there are others that have already did this swap so my question is did you all get ur motors from US or did any one get one that is said to be JDM fsde?

correct, and not many people have had success with the FSZE, you'd have to go full custom for ecu, and with the compression ratio boosting is pretty hard to accomplish safely

Ok good to know. Dont want to go spending $ on a motor thats going to need more things to fix. Ill try looking at junkyards to see if theres any, hope i can find one with decent millage and condition. By the way whats a good price for a FSDE?

you can probably get an OK one for 400-600 locally, but personally id get one and spend the extra $$$ to get it forged, then you barely have to think about blowing it again. at that point its more about your tranny going then your engine
