ladder brace is for the front under the car it connects to the control arms and it will work with any 01 and up protege

The ladder brace goes on the front subframe. The parts you are thinking of is the trunk cage... The ladder brace will fit your mazdaspeed with no modification.

I used factory bolts to connect mine to the car, this ladder brace replaces a factory stamped piece.

yeah you just use the same bolts and replace the factory brace for the aftermarket one.

where does the front tie bar go? does it replace a part or is it just an add-on?

It is an add on and connects the subframe at the control arm front mounting points. It runs directly below the oil pan and can be used with awr deep sump oil pan...

yeah that does... is that tie bar the one that fits w the AWR or is modded to fit. I know some were made after to work with the oil pan and some people just modded to make it.

the blue tie bars fit with the awr pans, the first gen ones were the original orange and they have issues fitting and the pic is of kz9's car..
