Killer 8 said:I read the cd set up and it looks hard how often do you find yourself changing your map? how did you find a good base map to start of with because that stuff had me feeling like i was in a math class!
I don't have a mpi or MAM SS yet but hope to get mines later this month.
Stereo instructions suck too, but it's not that bad. If you want something you don't have to tune, then it's not for you. But when you do tune it right, you will not have to touch it. This pigyback has made as much, if not more, then a 2-3 times the cost standalone that will not pass emissions. Anyone's map may work as a BASE map only, but you should always tune it to your application. When apocman and his crew in TX finish with their installs, we will have a pretty detailed tuning instruction document for newb's. He is going to make a kick as manual.
I can get a decent tune on a car in 15-20 minutes. That will be a slightly rich tune that is not fine tuned. The fine tuning will take a little more time, but when it's done you will be VERY happy. The key is to have your car working right before you use the MPI, not OK but right! It's a piggyback and only works as good as the stock ECU is. That means no CEL's, vacuum leaks, you need both O2's and anything else to have the car running like stock.
I do all of my tuning on the road and I have over 30 dyno pulls and I have ONLY picked up a MAX of 5 peak hp. So road tuning is a cheap way of tuning and pretty accurate.
